RUSSIAN TROLL FARM
SYNOPSIS: Steve likes Masha; Masha likes Nikolai; and Egor just wants to win a microwave. It’s another day at the office for the works of St. Petersburg's infamous (real-life) Internet Research Agency, whose job is manipulating social media to advance Russia’s agenda at home and abroad. Set in the lead-up to the examination of the power, seduction, and danger of a good story.
LJUBA - Female (cis, trans, non-binary), 50s-70s, any ethnicity. Cunning, tough as nails, dangerous. A boss. Steeled by a lifetime of personal sacrifice, rules the office with an iron fist.
NIKOLAI - Male (cis, trans, non-binary) mid-30 to mid-40s, any ethnicity. Character portrayed is affable, artistic, a dreamer, good-looking, in over his head. Supervisor.
EGOR - CAST. Male (cis, trans, non-binary), 30s. Character portrayed is deadpan, cold, logical, montone, aloof, somewhat Vulcan. A programmer par excellence who’s been roped into trolling against his will. Very seldom betrays any emotion.
MASHA- CAST. Female (cis, trans, non-binary), mid-30s to mid-40s, any ethnicity. Character portrayed is high-strung, intelligent, a former journalist, workaholic. New girl.
STEVE - CAST. Male (cis, trans, non-binary), 40s, any ethnicity. Character portrayed is Russian - the American name is an affect. A troll by vocation.
