Seeking:
Montag:
20s/30s – A Fireman. Military presence, with the inner spirit of a Hamlet. The play’s Everyman.
Beatty:
50s – The Fire Chief. Dangerous, Machiavellian, and brilliant. A man of power and strength.
Faber:
60s – Clarisse’s grandfather. An intellectual whose physical strength has failed him – although his mind is still powerful. Must be comfortable with live camera work.
Holden:
20s/30s – A Fireman. Physically intimidating. Doubles as a Paramedic and Forest People. Must be physically capable of sliding down 12’ fire poles.
Black:
20s/30s – A Fireman. A Fireman. Physically intimidating. Doubles as a Paramedic and Forest People. Must be physically capable of sliding down 12’ fire poles.
Mildred:
20s/30s – Montag’s wife. A terrified (and terrifyingly funny) woman who floats through life in a drug- and media-induced haze.
Clarisse:
17-26 – A sci-fi Cassandra, both an intellectual and a bit of a seer. She has more than a bit of mystery to her, and is fearless, and a kind of beauty.
Mrs. Hudson:
60s/70s – Loves her books and is willing to die for them. The Joan of Arc of the play. Physical agility necessary.
Helen:
20s/30s – Mildred’s friend. Hiding melancholy and disappointment under a happy façade. May double as Fireman, Paramedic and Forest People. (role may be cast with non-AEA actor)
Alice:
20s/30s – Mildred’s friend. Hiding melancholy and disappointment under a happy façade. May double as Fireman, Paramedic and Forest People. (role may be cast with non-AEA actor)

Calliope:
15/16, a girl in Telemachus’ class A happy-go-lucky teenaged girl whose fairy tale dreams will corrode beyond recognition. Extroverted, innocent, ferocious.
Chief / Suitors / Bennetos / Coach:
40s – Plays all older male characters. Slippery, power-hungry, flirtatious.
