As part of a pilot program created in the new agreement for Production: Broadway and Sit Downs, the employer will accept 126 video submissions from Equity members. Members will sign up online for one of the 126 slots. Only members who get one of the 126 slots will receive a confirmation e-mail with the preparation and submission information. After members' submissions have been viewed, the employer will notify each member who viewed their audition.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

ROMEO & JULIET (Broadway)

SEEKING:

MERCUTIO/ PRINCE/ FRIAR LAWRENCE/ CHORUS- 18-35. Any gender. Any ethnicity. Our storyteller and master of ceremonies. The moral center of the tale who has gathered us all for this ritual– to kill these two kids– to heal this feud. Comedic chops and strong facilities with language.

BENVOLIO/ BALTHAZER- 18-30. Any gender. Any ethnicity. Queer. A magnetic presence, unaware of their own charm.

NURSE/ MONTAGUE- 18-30. Any gender. Any ethnicity. Doubles as both a chatty lady with a big heart but not a ton of smarts and will also embody the patriarchy.

CAPULET/ LADY CAPULET- 18-30. Any gender. Any ethnicity. Doubles as both mother and father to Juliet. Capacity for scary rage and maternal care.

TYBALT/ APOTHECARY/ WATCHMAN- 18-25. Any gender. Any ethnicity. Youthful. A pent-up peacock. Has a temper that unleashes quickly and furiously.

SAMSON/ PARIS/ PETER- 18+ to play 15-17. Any gender. Any ethnicity. Anxious and nervous. Strong comedic sensibility. Please note this track will also cover other roles, exact roles TBD.

GREGORY/ AS CAST- 18+ to play 15-17. Any gender. Any ethnicity. A bully Capulet teen. This track will be heavily involved in fight choreography and movement. Please note this track will also cover other roles, exact roles TBD.

ABRAHAM/ AS CAST- 18+ to play 15-17. Any gender. Any ethnicity. A bully Montague teen. This track will be heavily involved in fight choreography and movement. Please note this track will also cover other roles, exact roles TBD.

ROMEO- CAST. The following description is for understudy consideration. Young. Sweet. Falls in love quickly.

JULIET- CAST. The following description is for understudy consideration. Young. Smart. Hungry for life.

OFFSTAGE UNDERSTUDIES– exact number and tracks to be determined but will be hiring offstage understudies to cover the above onstage roles.
