Please prepare two 32-bar musical theater selections appropriate for the season. Also bring your headshot and resume stapled together. You may be asked to dance a brief combination later in the day. Please bring proper clothes to move in.

[RIFF] Male Identifying. A spritely, quick-tempered leader of the Jets. He seeks to eliminate the Sharks and establish his own gang's dominance. Tony's best friend who is eventually murdered by Bernardo.
[DOC] Male Identifying. The owner of the candy store where the Jets hang out. He tries to guide the Jets youthful angst and provides a safe haven for Tony. Old fashioned and wise in his ways.
[CHINO] Male Identifying, Puerto Rican. An angry and, at times, naive Shark who turns murderous and vengeful. Suitor to Maria and friend of Bernardo's.
[KRUPKE] Male Identifying. The local beat cop. He has no patience for the gangs conflict and tries to keep tensions from erupting between them. He is regularly mocked by the local gangs.
[GLADHAND] male identifying. - Nerdy, overly cheerful, and ill-equipped school social director.
[A-RAB] male-identifying. Small of stature, enjoys everything, takes nothing seriously, unaware, can be explosive.
[ANYBODY’S] Female Identifying. A spunky tomboy who is desperate to become a member of the Jets. The other Jets mock her for her ambitions but generally appreciate her company. Full of energy and heart.
[ACTION] male-identifying. One of the Ace men of the Jets. Like some of the others, his nickname is indicative of his personality; he is very bad-tempered and always ready to fight at the drop of a hat, and as such, he often needs to be held back by Riff and the others.
[LT. SCHRANK] Male Identifying. A local police detective, frustrated by the ongoing violence between the Jets and Sharks. Blunt, brash, and unapologetic.
[SNOWBOY] male-identifying. A member of the jets.
[BABY JOHN] male-identifying. The youngest member of the Jets, awed at everything, even being a Jet.
[BERNARDO] Male Identifying, Puerto Rican. A proud, strong man. Bernardo seeks to carve out territory as a sense of identity for himself and his friends. Maria's brother and Anita's boyfriend. Leader of the Sharks.
[TONY] Male Identifying. A romantic young man and former leader of the Jets, he has found a new lifestyle now. Tony finds himself violently torn between his friendships and love. He falls in love with Maria and meets an untimely death. Genuinely sweet and sincere.
[MARIA] Female Identifying, Puerto Rican. A hopeless romantic and innocent young girl. She falls in love with Tony and finds herself at the center of the violent conflict between the two gangs. Bernardo's sister.
[ANITA] Female Identifying, Puerto Rican. Feisty and assertive. She dispenses older sister advice to Maria and tries to shield her from the dangers of the gangs. Bernardo's girlfriend and Maria's friend.
[BIG DEAL] male-identifying. Arrogant, A member of the jets.

[CELIE] Female Identifying, Black. A radiant survivor who triumphantly journeys through a life filled with soul-reckoning challenges that include, but are not limited to, emotional, physical, and sexual violence. A deep soul who believes that she is ugly, Celie is buoyed by a rock-solid faith in God, love and devotion for her sister Nettie, as well as the intimacy-awakening bond that she develops with Shug Avery.
[SHUG AVERY] Female Identifying, Black. A sultry siren and juke-joint performer and Mister's long time love. We meet her at death's door. She is attractive, confident, dynamic, powerful, and irresistible. Her body, soul, and desire to love again are reawakened by Celie and the intimate bond they form with one another. Though she has seen better days, her capacity for resilience and vulnerability is infinite.
[SOFIA] female-identifying, Black. A powerful woman. Harpo's wife and Celie's daughter-in-law turned lifelong friend; a woman who possesses a giant personality, along with an equally expansive lust for life. She has a proud sense of justice, suffers no fools, and does not allow anyone to mistreat her. Great sense of humor, touching, vulnerable.
[MISTER] Male Identifying, Black. A deeply troubled man with a handsome, big, masculine, strong, dominating presence. He is capable of brutal behavior but also a victim in his own way. Celie's husband and abuser. Though he has become hardened by life’s disappointments, there are still glimpses of humor and charm. He is the estranged love interest of Shug Avery, for whom he still carries a torch; eventually, he is redeemed by a self-reckoning and atoning for his transgressions.
[NETTIE] female-identifying, Black. Celie's younger sister and her rock; beautiful, intelligent, adventurous, driven, and maternal. She is protected by circumstance. Though she is more educated and knowledgeable than Celie, she is unwaveringly devoted to her. Nonetheless, she is torn apart from her sister and goes on to realize a fulfilled life in Africa.
[HARPO] Male Identifying, Black. Mister's vulnerable, confused, and good-hearted yet hapless son from his first marriage; well-intended, but often falls short due to exceedingly bad parenting from Mister. Represents the new generation. He falls deeply in love with - and is dominated by his wife, Sofia. He spends much time trying to get Sofia to obey him like Celie obeys his father, but he is unsuccessful. Harpo’s ego and yearning for control result in separation from Sofia. He eventually establishes a juke joint in his and Sofia’s first home and becomes Squeak’s lover. Later, he and Sofia reconcile. Through his journey with Sofia, he learns the power of love.
[SQUEAK] Female-Identifying, black. Harpo’s lover after Sofia leaves him. Sassy, fiery, quirky, and strong-willed. Though she possesses a caring heart, she is headstrong and sure of her place. She eventually undergoes a transformation demanding to be called by her actual name, Mary Agnes, and starting a new life.
[OL’MISTER] male-identifying, black. Mister’s father; a scathing, selfish man who disapproves of his son and his relationship with Shug. He owns the farmland on which Mister lives and believes that his status as a landowner makes him superior; despite this, he is detested by most everyone.

[CHARLIE COWELL] male-identifying. A traveling salesman who is on to Harold Hill's schemes. Tirelessly attempts to prove to everyone the true con man behind Harold Hill.
[HAROLD HILL] male-identifying. Our story's unsuspecting protagonist. A conman traveling under the auspices of a salesman, he eventually falls in love with Marian Paroo. Charismatic and charming. Moves well. (Ab2-F4)
[MAYJOR SHINN] male-identifying. A blustery politician who is all too self-important. Begrudgingly married to Eulalie, he is skeptical of the town rumor mill. Bold and comedic.
[EWART DUNLOP] male-identifying. A member of the quartet formed by Harold Hill with a tenor voice. Ewart is married to Maude Dunlop. Owns the grocery store in River City. (F3-F5)
[OLIVER HIX] male-identifying. A baritone in the quartet formed by Hill. Oliver is married to Alma Hix. Owns the bank in River City. (B2-F4)
[JACEY SQUIRES] male-identifying. The highest tenor in the quartet. Married to Mrs. Squires. (C3-5)
[OLIN BRITT] male-identifying. A citizen of River City and the bass of the quartet formed by Harold Hill. Owns the newspaper in River City. (F2-C4)
[MARCELLUS WASHBURN] male-identifying. Harold's chummy old friend and former conman. He now lives in River City and is trying to settle down.
[TOMMY DJILAS] male-identifying. An attractive young man from the wrong side of town. He is secretly courting Zaneeta. A strong dancer.
[MARIAN PAROO] female-identifying. The town librarian and music teacher. She is an attractive young lady who eventually falls for Harold Hill—stuck up, curious.
[EULALIE MACKECKNIE SHINN] female-identifying. Mayor Shinn's peacock wife. A serial gossiper and snob, she has trouble keeping her opinions to herself.
[ALMA HIX] female-identifying. A Pick-a-Little Lady married to Oliver Hix.
[MAUDE DUNLOP] female-identifying. A Pick-a-Little Lady married to Ewart Dunlop.
[ETHEL TOFFELMEIR] female-identifying. A comical Pick-a-Little Lady and Marcellus Washburn's girlfriend.
[ZANEETA SHINN] female-identifying. The Mayor's fresh-faced daughter who is in love with Tommy. Sweet and outgoing. She appears to be daffy at times. A strong dancer.
[MRS. PAROO] female-identifying. Cheerful and always plotting. An Irish widow and mother to Marian and Winthrop.

[THE CAT IN THE HAT] Male Identifying. The essence of mischief, fun, and imagination. The Cat stirs things up and causes trouble but always sets things right again, helping Jojo to discover the power of his own imagination as they create the story for the show together.
[HORTON THE ELEPHANT] Male Identifying. Horton The Elephant is a gentle giant. Think of him as a big-hearted blue-collar guy who is steadfast, responsible, and always tries to do the right thing for his friends. He is imaginative and receptive to the world around him. He is very unselfconscious. Horton's view of the world never changes - he believes in its goodness.
[GERTRUDE McFUZZ] Female Identifying. Gertrude McFuzz is very self-conscious and aware that her one-feather tail isn't perfect. Gertrude changes during the show from a neurotic, nervous, and shy bird into one with the power to protect and care for a baby elephant bird and commit herself to Horton. In other words, she stops worrying about her looks and grows up.
[MAYZIE LaBRID] Female Identifying. Mayzie La Bird is self-centered, selfish, and vain. Mayzie will never admit to her own flaws. She manipulates anyone she can into doing what she wants. But Mayzie isn't all bad. In giving up her egg to Horton once and for all, she has a moment of generosity she realizes she isn't the kind of person who would be a good parent, and she does the best thing she can for the egg.
[SOUR KANGEROO] Female Identifying. She is loud, boisterous, and sassy. The other animals in the Jungle of Nool always listen to her, and she acts as their leader throughout the show.
[THE MAYOR OF WHOVILLE] Male Identifying. Mr. and Mrs. Mayor are Whos who are parents trying hard to raise a difficult child in a difficult world. They may get aggravated with Jojo, but they love him dearly and try to do the right thing, even if it turns out to be a mistake.
[MRS. MAYOR] Female Identifying. Mr. and Mrs. Mayor are Whos who are parents trying hard to raise a difficult child in a difficult world. They may get aggravated with Jojo, but they love him dearly and try to do the right thing, even if it turns out to be a mistake.
[GENERAL GENGHIS KAHN SCHMITZ] Male Identifying. The leader of the Army in Whoville. He is loud, commanding, and sometimes mean.
