PARTY TIME

The play takes place at an elegant town house/art gallery. Through multiple scenes, it becomes clear that there is an uprising of some sort taking place throughout the city. Most of the male characters are involved in directing physical violence against protesters, though this is never made explicit
Seeking
Male, 60’s, affluent. Clearly has very traditional view of marital relations.
Female: 70’s. Elegant, extremely traditional, laments ‘lost society’

Act One is a collage of text that includes words culled from interviews with the community most impacted by the AIDS epidemic Also, included are works of poetry, dramatic texts written during the height of the epidemic and now looking back at that time.
Act Two is a performance of Robert Chesley's elegy DOG PLAYS, which explores lives of a handful of gay men on the brink.

Rover, a young drag queen of color. Dream sequence, he is a memory for the other two characters, recalled in the moment of doing his drag performance.
Fido, in his 40’s, a denizen of the Castro. Trying to ignore the increasing levels of death surrounding him; was a hedonist.

DOG (Role CAST) The ‘Elder Statesman’ of the Castro community 40-50. Looking back over the devastation of the past years. Gay, intelligent, in mourning
BUCK - (Role CAST) a former lover of Dog. Attractive, maintains a youthful appearance at 40 or so. Witty, sardonic, enjoys sparring with Dog
FEMALE ENSEMBLE. (Role CAST) A woman who plays a number of roles, ages 40s, mother to an AIDS patient, physician working in the community, sister of an AIDS patient
