Breakdown
Seeking the following:
Molly:
adult actress to play a precocious 13-year-old tomboy, true leader in a time when girls and women are supposed to be followers, she is curious, fearless, intelligent, a problem-solver with excellet comedic, language and movement skills, must be a strong singer. Seeking actors of all ethnic backgrounds, prepare with english accent.
Also seeking various pirate roles as described below, characters' ages 30-45. Actors should have excellent comedic skills and must move and sing well.
Note: The theatre intends to cast the following three roles as people of color. At the auditions, prepare with class appropriate dialect and ability to play drums a plus:
Mrs. Bumbrake/Teacher:
A Bristich nanny with some girlish charm left inher, a still upper lip and a bit of a flirt.
Grempkin:
Mean to the bone, likes to keep boys in cold dark places without any food; doubles as Fighting Prawn, an outlandish and absurdly funny King of the Mollusks who thrives o the blood of Englishmen, especially looking for drumming skils
Smee
Single-mindedly devoted to his captain Black Stash, an indeosyncratic, highly inventive and physical comic actor
