BENEDICK – 20’s-40’s - male identifying: an independent spirit, who out of insecurity plays at the confirmed military bachelor. He’s witty and more than a little excitable and comic. Has a confident, easy social aura and playfulness.
LEONATO - 50’s-70’s - any gender: a loving parental figure, up for a good time, well meaning, witty, but capable of pretty nasty patriarchal rage when they think their honor has been compromised.
DON PEDRO - 30’s-50’s - male identifying - has a regal bearing as the overlord of Sicily and a distinguished military leader. That said, he possesses an easy social grace, wit and playfulness and even some vulnerability to Beatrice. But when it comes to honor, he can have a fierce coldness about him.

A person of deep feeling who is finally capable of unguarded passion, but also possesses a deep loyalty to Hero that awakens a real fury at the mindless male honor code.
URSULA - 30’s-60’s - any gender - a combination of Ursula, Antonio, and the priest. An aunt/uncle figure. A companion to Leonato’s family. Full of high spirits, enthusiasm, and nosiness. They enjoy a good trick and has a hearty bawdy streak.

BORACHIO - 20’s-50’s - any gender - a scrapper and an opportunist. Always working an angle. Not afraid to get their hands dirty. But ultimately capable of self-reflection and redemption.
MARGARET - 20’s-40’s - female identifying - friend and waiting woman to Hero. She’s always up for a good time and seeks the thrill of life. High spirited and bawdy. Is very happy and fulfilled in her station and tries to find the game in all things.
