Closing: 4/16/23
TBA Ext: Through 4/23/23

Violet Weston – Female, 60+ . The mother of the Weston family. Undergoing treatment for oral cancer and addicted to several prescription drugs, primarily depressants, and narcotics. Despite her drug-induced episodes, she is sharp-tongued and shrewd.

Karen Weston – Female, 40+. The youngest daughter in the Weston family. She is newly engaged to Steve, whom she considers the perfect man, and lives with him in Florida. Karen chooses to lie to herself about her sleazy fiancé rather than face the reality of not getting a happy ending.

Bill Fordham – Male, Late 40s. Barbara's estranged husband and Jean's father. A college professor, he has left his wife for a younger woman named Cindy, one of his students, but wants to be there for his family. His marriage is disintegrating, and his patience is slowly running thin.

Jean Fordham – Female, 18+ to play 14. Bill and Barbara's smart-tongued daughter. She smokes pot and cigarettes, is a vegetarian, loves old movies, and is bitter about her parents' split.

Steve Heidebrecht - Male, age 50. A businessman in Florida. Throughout the play, he is inappropriately sexual with Jean, supplies her with marijuana, and sexually assaults her.

Little Charles Aiken – Male, 37 years old. Son of Mattie Fae and Beverly — but, like everyone else, he believes Charlie is his father. Unemployed and clumsy, his mother calls him a screw-up. He is secretly having an affair with Ivy.

Johnna Monevata – Female, 26, Cheyenne Indian. Beverly hires her as a live-in housekeeper shortly before he disappears. Violet is prejudiced against her, but she wins over the other family members with her cooking skills, hard work, and empathy. A silent witness.

The roles of Beverly Weston, Barbara Fordham, Mattie Fae Aiken, Ivy Weston, Charlie Aiken, and Sheriff Deon Gilbeau are cast – SEEKING POTENTIAL REPLACEMENTS.

Beverly Weston (CAST) - Male, 60+. The father of the Weston family, an alcoholic and washed-up poet. His mysterious disappearance and eventual death are the reasons for the family's reunion.

Barbara Fordham (CAST) - Female, Late 40s. The oldest daughter of the Weston Family. Mother of Jean and wife of Bill. A college professor. She wants to save her marriage, but has the intense need to control everything around her.

Ivy Weston (CAST) - Female, Mid to late 40s. The middle daughter of the Weston family. The only daughter to stay in Oklahoma, she works as a librarian at the local college, and her calm and patient exterior hides a passionate woman who is gradually growing cynical.

Mattie Fae Aiken (CAST) - Female, 60+. Violet's sister, Charlie's wife and Little Charles's mother. Just as jaded as her sister. Mattie Fae constantly belittles her son and antagonizes her husband.

Charlie Aiken (CAST) - Male, 60+. Husband of Mattie Fae and the presumed father of Little Charles. Charlie, a genial man, was a lifelong friend of Beverly. He struggles to get Mattie Fae to respect Little Charles.

Sheriff Deon Gilbeau (CAST) - Male, Late 40s. A high-school classmate and former boyfriend of Barbara's, who brings the news of Beverly's suicide to the family.

THE SCIENCE OF LEAVING OMAHA, by Carter W. Lewis (World Premiere)

First Rehearsal: 1/10/23

Opening: 2/3/23

Closing: 2/19/23

Possible Extension Through: 2/26/23

Iris was given a job at the Belladonna Funeral Home’s basement crematory. Three years later she is trying to find her way out of the job - and out of Omaha. One evening a young man breaks into the funeral home. He has come to say goodbye to his recently deceased wife. The two will spend a very humorous, clumsy and erratic evening together trying to understand the dismantling of their working-class lives, before the police arrive and they are held accountable for present or past transgressions.

Iris – Female, 18. A blue-collar, working-class, high school dropout. Life has been hard on her, but she valiantly tries to cover it up with hope, optimism, and a sense of humor. The crematory job was going to be a fresh start, but she's just trying to forget (or ignore) how trapped, lost, and alone she feels here.

Baker – Male, early 20s. A blue-collar, working-class gas station attendant/mechanic. He had dreams of playing pro baseball, which never came true, so he got resigned to being stuck in Omaha; survival instincts have given him a tough, dark, edgy outer shell, but underneath he is kind, caring, and vulnerable with a deep romantic streak.

Sally – Female, 37, Black / African Descent. A blue-collar, working-class security guard. She has great pride in her position and takes it very seriously, but she's also a little overwhelmed and in over her head with the responsibility of it all. She's a bit on-edge and tries to cover up her wary nerves with a false sense of authority, humor, and nonchalance; she is a single mother with a strong maternal instinct.

TOPDOG/UNDERDOG, by Suzan-Lori Parks

First Rehearsal: 5/2/23

Opening: 5/26/23

Closing: 6/11/23

Possible Extension Through: 6/18/23

Lincoln - Male, late 30s, Black / African Descent - the top-dog. Elder brother of Booth. A pro at the Three-card Monte hustle, who quit hustling to try to earn an honest living. Generous with money and resources. Smooth, charming, intelligent; loves his brother, but also loves winning.

Booth - Male, early 30s, Black / African Descent – the underdog. The hot-blooded younger brother of Lincoln. Desperate to master the Three-card Monte hustle and eager to make a name for himself. Limited schooling and motivation to find work. Clumsier than his brother. Insecure and wants to impress Lincoln. Lonely. A longtime loser ready to turn the tables. Sticky fingers.
