Sylvester: Black actor and singer, Gay/Bi/Trans/Nonbinary/Queer identified, 30-55. 5’7” to 6” 11 (ideal height 5’10+, talent 5’7 wearing 4-6 inch footwear will give more height) Comfortable singing in falsetto or lip synch. Comfortable with Gospel and Soul style singing/music/culture. Comfortable with choreographed movement and have basic dance training or skills. The character will take us on an emotional journey. They are a larger-than-life, inspired and flamboyant gender-nonconforming internationally renowned disco diva and at times deeply introspective and will show vulnerability. Quick on their feet/heels and has a good sense of humor and dexterous physicality. Comfortable with drag as well as a range of their gender presentation. Note: Must be comfortable performing on the street and in public and with walking up to 3/4 of a mile per show.
Guide & Ensemble player: Any ethnicity/race, LGBTQIA+. Can play roles of various ages and genders such as Joan Rivers, Merv Griffin, a Cockette, a groupie, a muse, a bandmate. Performer is comfortable with scripted material, improvisation, and interacting with an audience in the way a cabaret singer would. Comfortable with choreographed movement and have basic dance training or skills.
Audience Wrangler and ensemble: Any ethnicity/race, LGBTQIA+. A wide range of supporting roles of various genders with fluid sexuality. Coat-check girl/boy/person who opens the limo to more serious supporting roles throughout the show.
