BABE
Female, 18-22. Cher at the early stage of her life. Fiercely independent but insecure about her looks, being “different”, being challenged from dyslexia. Anxious to “get up and get out”, to sing, to dance, to act, to be somebody. Determined to be famous, drawn to Hollywood and the movies. Surrounded by women as a girl; eager for romantic encounters as a teen. Seeing Sonny for the first time is her “Romeo and Juliet moment.” Has an excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
LADY
Female, 30-35. Cher in her 30s. Delighted by the power and trappings of stardom. Exhausted by the demands of a fully booked life. She wears her fame and her femininity as naturally as any of the famous Mackie creations, with ease and aplomb. In the spotlight, she thrives. Out of it, she pines for the minutiae of ordinary life – going to the movies, shopping with friends, being a mommy, making music. Has an excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
STAR
Female, 45-55. Cher as we see her now. She might have been willing to settle for less if she’d known that this is what it's like to have it all. But she doesn’t settle, she strives. She pushes through the old fears and insecurities to try new things, to be new versions of herself. Brings her talent for being real to her music, and to her acting. And, to her search for love, for a good man who can handle a powerful woman. Has an excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
SONNY BONO
Male, 35-45. Charming, funny, adorable, ambitious – but capable of being controlling, inconstant and manipulative. He’s the hero and the villain – a romantic and a cad, a lover and a jailer, part Othello and part Iago. That’s what makes him interesting, to Cher and to us. Has an excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
GEORGIA HOLT / LUCILLE BALL
Female, 40-50. Cher’s mother. Gorgeous, talented and independent. Could’ve given Marilyn Monroe a run for her money but lacked the killer instinct. Happy to attach and detach herself from any guy, even the ones she marries. She wants her daughter to be somebody, and she teaches her by example. Not the cliché stage mother, not the cliché stay-at-home mom, but squarely in her kid’s corner, through thick and thin. Will also double as Lucille Ball. Has an excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.
BOB MACKIE / ROBERT ALTMAN
Male, 35-55. The somewhat eccentric fashion designer responsible for designing Cher’s outfits for her shows. Will also double as famous film and theatre director Robert Altman. Has excellent comedic timing and a fantastic singing voice. Role will be understudied.
GREGG ALLMAN / JOHN SOUTHALL
Male, 25-40. Known for his success as part of “The Allman Brothers Band.” A romantic relationship with Cher starts after she separates from Sonny Bono and eventually, they marry. Young, handsome, sexy, and surprisingly smart. Has an excellent pop/rock singing voice and guitar playing is a plus. Role will be understudied.
ROB CAMILLETTI
Male, 25-35. “The Bagel Boy.” Cher’s very young love interest later in her life. A sweet, charming, Italian young man. Genuinely loves Cher for who she really is. Has an excellent pop/rock voice. Role will be understudied.

Male, 20-25, Caucasian. A clever chap, filled with enormous potential until his great passion. Greed engrosses him. Will be understudied.

MEG
Female, 20-25, Any ethnicity. Fred’s bride, very pretty, with a dimpled, surprised look. Soprano. Will be understudied.
BELLE
Female, 20-25, Any ethnicity. Young Scrooge’s betrothed, a fair maiden, honorable and pure. Soprano. Will be understudied.
THE NARRATOR
Male, 30s, Any ethnicity. A poet and artist; the teller of this ghostly tale. Will be understudied.
