Equity musical theatre performers, men and women, for the ensemble and special chorus parts in the upcoming 2015 Season.

Preparation
Please prepare a brief musical theatre song or pop song which best shows your personality and abilities. Bring sheet music, in the correct key, as an accompanist will be provided.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

2015 Season

BILLY ELLIOT
Music by Elton John. Book and Lyrics by Lee Hall.
Director: Eric Woodall. Choreographer: Adam Pelty.
1st full company rehearsal: Monday, January 26th. Show run is February 10th through 15th.

Seeking male and female singers for the ensemble and following chorus specialties:

MR. BRAITHWAITE
30s-40s. Dance school pianist and miner. Geordie. Strong singer. Good comedy skills. Tap and dance skills essential. Character actor. Featured Ensemble role.

DEAD MUM
30s Billy’s deceased Mum. Geordie. Strong singer. Warm, compassionate, sympathetic. Tap & dance a plus. Featured Ensemble role.

BIG DAVEY
40s – 50 Very strong actor, good singer. Solid movement skills – tap a plus. A working class leader of the union. Covers the roles of: DAD - Billy’s dad. Single parent. Narrow-minded. Tries to do the best for his family. At the end of his tether. & GEORGE: Billy’s Boxing teacher. Geordie miner. Excellent comedy skills. Friend of Dad’s. Spokesman of the miners. Community spirited. Featured Ensemble role.

MALE BALLET DANCER/OLDER BILLY
EXCELLENT CLASSICAL BALLET DANCER with Strong Physique to join the ENSEMBLE. Early to mid 20s. Must be able to cope with Geordie or Northern or Scottish accent. Tap and singing skills a plus. MINIMUM HEIGHT 5'11. Featured Ensemble role. (Offer out, those auditioning will be seen as replacements or understudies if offer is accepted.)

MALE ENSEMBLE
Excellent singing voices and ability to dance or move well. Good Tap skills essential. Adaptability to Geordie/ Northern accent required. Character Men of all ages– older rather than younger. Men need to be physically big, burly, out of shape and possess great stamina. To play miners, officials, parents, friends, etc. Ability to cover principle roles. Good minor roles and cameos to come from ensemble.

FEMALE ENSEMBLE
25-40. Excellent singing voices and ability to dance or move well. Good Tap skills essential. Adaptability to Geordie/ Northern accent required. Ability to cover principle roles.

Females: Candy/Clear Lake/Snowbird, Shirley/Mary Lou/Hayrider (plays fiddle if possible), Snow bird/Hayrider
