INSTRUCTIONS
Please prepare a one-minute contemporary musical theatre piece of your own choosing that is as close to the style of the show as possible and that shows the “unique” character of your voice. The show will be performed In-Person and fully immersively indoors at Four Winds Farm, a new performance venue.

Rehearsals will take place at the Capital City Theatre CORE space. Audience will be masked and ALL relevant Equity COVID 19 safety protocols in effect at the time of production will be adhered to as well as a Covid Compliance Officer being present if still required. ALL cast, crew, designers, etc will be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 at least 3 week prior to May 10, 2022.

BREAKDOWN
We will also be casting additional ensemble members who will play various roles!
Capital City Theatre encourages ALL ethnicities to audition. Please indicate if you play an instrument as well!
NATASHA (Range: Soprano, G3-F5 (Belt to C5)- innocent, wide-eyed, ingenue who is dangerously romantic. Age range: 19-26.
PIERRE (Range: Bari-Tenor, Ab2-Ab4)- a Melancholy outsider despite being very wealthy. Gruff yet at times warm. Plays accordion and piano. Age Range: 30s-40s.
ANATOLE (Range: Tenor, B2-C#5; C#5 must be belted, access to E6 for riffing preferred). Aristocrat and hedonistic, Ambisexual, High Operatic Tenor. Bonus if they can play violin. Age range: Late 20s to 30s.
SONYA (Range: Mezzo-Soprano, B3-C5; Belt to A4)- Natasha's dear friend and confidante, Passionate, selfless, loyal, and devoted to her friend. 20s.
MARYA (Range: Alto, G3-B4)- This role has been cast.
HÉLÈNE (Range: Alto, G3-F5; belty alto)- aristocrat, the queen of society. Deceptive and amoral. Highly sexualized but with a good sense of humor. Age range: Late 20s-40.
DOLOKHOV (Range: Baritone, E3-F4)- An enigmatic officer, hedonistic and a bit of a sociopath, remorseless and regretful. Plays guitar if possible. Age Range: Late 20s-30s.
OLD PRINCE BOLKONSKY (Range: Baritone, Ab3-F4)- is a conservative, old-fashioned aristocrat whose dementia has causes him to be alternately nasty and incapacitated. Lives with his still unmarried daughter, Mary. Helpful if plays guitar. NOTE: May double with Andrey.
ANDREY (Range: Baritone, F2-Eb3)- Prince Andrey, is the finest catch in all of Russia. incredibly handsome and a noble officer, very serious. Old before his time and carrying a weight on his heart and mind. Age Range: late 20s-40. NOTE: may double with Bolkonsky.
MARY (Range: Mezzo-Soprano, G3-B4)- Lonely, plain, spinster daughter of a wealthy price. She is resigned to her father’s cruelty. 20's to 30s. Has command of extended vocal techniques (e.g. glottal yodeling, ululation). Age Range: 20s to 30s.
BALAGA (Range: Baritone, A2-E4)- A Russian troika driver, a larger-than-life fantasy-like character. Has supernatural abilities with his troika and can drink incredible amounts. Lower class but bold. Age Range: Late 20s-40s.
