SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in Music Theatre Wichita's 2022 Season to include JERSEY BOYS, 42ND STREET, KINKY BOOTS, THE WIZARD OF OZ, and THE DROWSY CHAPERONE (see breakdown).


INSTRUCTIONS

Please prepare a song that reflects the season and the role for which you are auditioning. Please list in the subject your name and the role for which you are auditioning.

BREAKDOWN

Roles with an (*) have been offered but still looking as summer plans can change.

JERSEY BOYS

Frankie Valli - a strong tenor with sweet and strong falsetto. Sings in the style of Frankie Valli.

Nick Massi - a strong bass/baritone voice; a quiet dreamer who longs for life after The Four Seasons.

Bab Gaudio - a strong tenor/baritenor voice; an intelligent, sensitive, and introspective musical prodigy.

Tommy DeVito - a strong tenor/baritenor voice; a natural-born leader with an appealing, bad-boy quality.

42ND STREET

Peggy Sawyer - Young, talented and hopeful. An extraordinary tap dancer who can sing like a Broadway leading lady; mezzo/belt.

Dorothy Brock - An established Broadway star. Moves well and possesses a strong sense of comic timing.

Julian Marsh - Powerful and charismatic. A successful Broadway director; baritone.

KINKY BOOTS

Charlie Price * - A bit confused, a bit unfocused, a hero hiding under a victim's mantle. Age 25-35.

Lola/Simon - A prize fighter's physique draped in satin. A talented drag queen with a killer voice and winning ways. Age 30-35.

THE WIZARD OF OZ

Aunt Em/ Glinda * - 25-45. (Soprano) Glinda is the Good Witch of the North. Benevolent and beloved. Strong singer.

Professor Marvel / The Wizard *- 50-65. Older father figure with an eccentric flair. Basic conjuring or sleight of hand a bonus. Non-Singing.

THE DROWSY CHAPERONE

Man In Chair * - Musical theatre aficionado who mourns the end of the Golden Era. He narrates the show as he listens to the record on vinyl.

Robert Martin * - The dashing, ever-cheerful groom; tap dancer.

Aldolpho - European self-proclaimed ladies man.

Janet Van De Graaf - The famous bride. Glamorous and talented star of Feldzieg's Follies.

The Drowsy Chaperone - Janet's alcoholic confidante and friend.

Trix * - The brave and brash female aviator who, by chance, is recruited to perform the wedding.
