BREAKDOWN
Sometimes the right decision isn’t clear, and the clear decision isn’t right. Pulitzer Prize finalist, Rebecca Gilman, provides a captivating and suspenseful story with Luna Gale. Veteran social worker, Caroline, swears to protect baby Luna Gale, but is her mission motivated by hidden secrets? Produced in association with Theatre TCU, this riveting production explores the importance of parenthood, faith and love, asking: does the end justify the means?
CAROLINE: (50’s) A veteran social worker in the Department of Human Resources for more than 25 years navigating many difficult cases and trying desperately to avoid burn-out. She is a woman of unflinching integrity who is a strong advocate for her client.
PASTOR JAY: (40’s) Cindy’s spiritual advisor, who is also helping her pursue gaining custody of Luna.
CLIFF: (35) Caroline’s supervisor who can come across as an officious bureaucrat and does not often agree with Caroline’s methods. He blames her for past failings in the office.
CINDY: (40’s) Karlie’s mother, who is trying desperately to gain custody of Luna during this volatile time so that she can raise her grandchild as a devout Evangelical Christian.
The roles of Karlie, Peter, and Lourdes are cast from students in the Theatre Department from Texas Christian University.
