JO: 18-25. The spirited, tomboyish second eldest March sister with big dreams of becoming a writer. Jo is fiercely independent, stubborn, and full of passion, with an indomitable will to succeed. She often feels out of place in a world that expects women to conform. Jo has a strong bond with her sisters and is the play’s central figure. Requires excellent movement and a powerful singing voice. Vocal range: Mezzo-Soprano/Belter.
