SEEKING
Six actors. Actors with disabilities are encouraged to attend.
LIGHT SHINING IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE is a revival of Caryl Churchill’s 1976 play. The play, as written, is set in England in 1646 but it illuminates our current world. This is a play about protest and a moment in history when a country almost (but not quite) reinvented itself. The climax of the play centers around The Putney Debates. This play will not be a literal, naturalistic production and will be performed by six actors playing a grand variety of roles. In the spirit of the play’s creation those tracks will be created during the rehearsal process for each particular scene. We are seeking six actors of all ages, ethnicities, and actors from the disabled community who will perform multiple roles throughout the play. All actors should be skilled with heightened language.
PREPARATION
Please prepare a monologue by Caryl Churchill, Harold Pinter, Sarah Kane, Sam Shepard, Edward Albee or Tom Stoppard under 2 minutes. Bring picture and resume
