Two contrasting, short monologues and optional 16 bars in vocal range. Total audition package not to exceed 3 minutes. Accompanist provided.

JAMES SHARKY HARKIN: Male, 50'S Erstwhile fisherman/van driver/chauffeur. He is not a big man, but is wiry and strong. A very tough life is etched on his face. His eyes are quick and ready.

RICHARD HARKIN: Male, late 50's/60's Older brother, blind. He is unshaven and looks terrible. He has recently gone blind.

MR.LOCKHART: Male, 50's He looks like a wealthy businessman and bon viveur.

DR. WILLIAM B. CHUMLEY: Male, 50's+ Distinguished, exacting, pompous, difficult psychiatrist, owner of Chumley's Rest, a sanatarium.

DUANE WILSON: Male, late 25-40 The burly, strong-armed orderly at Chumley's Rest.

JUDGE OMAR GAFFNEY: Male, 50's+ An old family friend of the Dowd's, who represents the folk in town who don't think anything of Elwood's behavior.

DR.LYMAN SANDERSON: Male, 20's-30's Handsome, highly qualified psychiatrist, secretly in love with Nurse Kelly.

E.J. LOFGREN: Male, 40's+ Crusty no-nonsense cab driver, possessor of the wisdom the others need.

MYRTLE MAE SIMMONS: Female, early 20's Elwood's niece. She lives with her widowed mother and Uncle. She is unmarried and eager to meet men, but afraid that her Uncle's eccentricities make that impossible.

BETTY CHUMLEY: Female, 50's Dr. Chumley's wife, more concerned with society than science.

MRS. ETHEL CHAUVENET: Female, 60's Wealthy society woman, with an eligible grandson about Myrtle's age.

NURSE RUTH KELLY: Female, 24-30 Pretty,love-struck Head Nurse at Chumley's Rest.
