BREAKDOWN

Seeking submissions for the following roles:

Actor 1
THE PHOTOGRAPHER - Female, mid to late 30s. An openness and welcoming kind of spirit. The ability to carry the show. Facility with language - like a lot of language. A crazy charisma, but also, just like us. All ethnicities encouraged to submit.

Actor 2
THE HARDWARE STORE OWNER, POLICEMAN - Male, mid to late 30s. The Hardware Store Owner is kind of a normal person, and the policeman is kind of a hottie. The Hardware Store Owner is currently living an uneventful life and this love possibility is a whole big scary exciting thing. So it's about the daily normal things and the spark of love that can change everything. The Hardware Store owner used to be super handsome when he was like 18 but 20 years have passed and now he is his job. He is kind. He is good. He was never a mean person. All ethnicities encouraged to submit.

Actor 5
THE PERFUME MAKER, HISTORY PROFESSOR, EMT 1 - Male, 50s. The Perfume Maker is a shy hermit. Singularly focused and probably pretty weird. Mad scientist archetype. The History Professor is used to lecturing in front of people. He has a presence. Both of them are brainy and detached but in very different ways. All ethnicities encouraged to submit.

STORY - Welcome to Colchester, a small town where everybody knows each other and the pace of life allows the pursuit of love to take up as much space as it needs. Our tour guide is Suzanne, the town photographer, who lets us peek into her neighbors’ lives to catch glimpses of romance in all its stages of development. A play about love, nostalgia, the seasons and how we learn to say goodbye.
A world premiere from our 2015 JAW Festival.
