Actors and musical theater performers for the Kennedy Center Theater For Young Audiences Season.

Actors will be signed on as Actor/ASMs.

Preparation
All actors must prepare a comedic, contemporary monologue, no longer than 2 minutes. For those actors wishing to be considered for a musical, you must also prepare 16 bars of a standard musical theater song.
Piano accompaniment will be provided.

Please bring headshot and resume.

One-Week Per-Performance Tier II Contracts
Exact dates to be determined, although the program generally holds three to seven Developmental Readings a season.

2015/2016 SEASON - Kennedy Center Family Theater Productions (Tier I):

Production #1 - Title TBD
This world premiere Kennedy Center commission will be a play about two best friends in high school as they approach graduation - one a runner, one a writer - based on a touching and raw teen novel. For audiences ages 12 and up.

Adapted by Caleen Sinnette Jennings; Based on the book by Walter Dean Myers; Director TBA

October 28, 2015 - November 8, 2015

This Kennedy Center commissioned musical is about two best friends and their adventures together, based on a popular series of children's books. For audiences ages 4 and up.

Main character: 18+ male, earnest and prone to melancholy

Main character: 18+ female, spunky and full of enthusiasm

Three versatile female actors: 18+, who will play the roles of back-up singers and other ensemble parts (female)

This world premiere Kennedy Center commission will be a musical inspired by Charles Dickens' novel Oliver Twist exploring the life of children in the favelas of contemporary Rio de Janiero. For audiences ages 10 and up.

Seeking: 6 actors.
Note: This play is still in development and the roles/descriptions are still being determined, although we know it will be a diverse ensemble in terms of age, gender, and ethnicity.
