CONTRACT

TYA $550.25/week

SEEKING

Actors and musical theater performers for our full TYA season.
Actors will be signed on as Actor/ASMs.
Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

SM position has been filled.

PREPARATION

All actors must prepare a comedic, contemporary monologue, no longer than 90 seconds. For those actors wishing to be considered for a musical, you must also prepare 16 bars of a standard musical theater song.
Piano accompaniment will be provided.

Kennedy Center Family Theater Productions (Tier I):

Production #1 - Title TBD

This world premiere Kennedy Center commission based on two books from Kwame Alexander, brings a young girl from the city together with a jazz loving rooster to play a barnyard benefit concert to help save the farm from being sold. With help from Mules Davis's and Dairy Parton, Acoustic Rooster calls on friends like pianist Duck Ellington, and percussionist piggy Pepe Ernesto Cruz. Together, they find how strong they can be when they elevate every voice as they rock the barnyard.

Production #2 - Title TBD

In this sequel to A Wrinkle in Time, it’s a dark and stormy night. The power is out. Meg, Calvin, and a sick Charles Wallace retire to their secret spot in the attic to tell stories by flashlight. Wrapped in quilts, leaning against old steamer trunks, Meg begins to read “King Arthur and the Knights of the Roundtable” aloud. But she only gets a few lines into the story before one of the steamer trunks begins to shake. They muster up their courage, raise the lid, and unleash Progo, an extraterrestrial dragon who is here to help them save Charles Wallace and the world, while teaching Meg and Calvin about the special qualities they have locked inside.

Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! (The Musical!)

National Tour: October 2020 - December 2020
This world premiere Kennedy Center Commission based on Mo Willem's loved book, is about how it’s not easy being The Pigeon-- you never get to do ANYTHING! But when the Bus Driver has a crisis that threatens to make her passengers (gasp!) late, maybe that wily bird CAN do something. Starring an innovative mix of actors, puppets, songs, and feathers, this musical is sure to get everyone’s wings flapping.
