BREAKDOWN

JOY

SEEKING:

Dan (mid 30s, he/him): An executive at QVC who gives Joy her big break. While he looks and acts like your typical young-ish whippersnapper businessman, he also has passion and heart that reveal themselves as we get to know him. He believes in Joy and is determined to see her succeed. High pop tenor.

Ronni (30s, she/her): A low-level businesswoman at QVC who constantly has to fight for her place in the corporate world. She is grounded but determined. Strong pop belt.

Young Joy (9, she/her, covers Christie): The younger, more carefree version of Joy who is always inventing things and coming up with new ideas. She is inquisitive, excitable, and clever.

Ensemble: (these characters are all ages, genders, races, and ethnicities) To play Long Islanders, businessmen, secretaries, Texan cowboys, and more. Ensemble members in this production must be exceptionally skilled vocalists and very strong actors. Every ensemble member will have at least one feature and almost every ensemble member will need to cover a principal.
