From the mean streets of Jersey to American Bandstand, this is the thrilling story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became the biggest doo-wop sensation of all time: The Four Seasons. Using their legendary music, two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff brings to life the exciting early days of rock-and-roll, and the price of fame for four guys who had nothing – and everything – to lose.

ENSEMBLE MALE 1
20s to early 30s .(5’10 or shorter) Strong actor/singer to play various roles including Joey Pesci: Young, energetic. Will understudy the principal role of Frankie Valli: Must have a strong tenor with sweet and strong falsetto and be able to sing in the style of Frankie Valli. Strong tenor to high A or Bb plus strong falsetto up to treble G. Charismatic and charming. Must be a very strong actor (comfortable with narrative text) and have a gritty side as well as a polished veneer. Must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies and a good dancer.
ENSEMBLE MALE 2
20s early 30s. Strong actor/singer to play various roles including Bob Crewe: Intelligent and flamboyant- genius music producer and lyricist. An integral part of creating the magic of the Four seasons. Will understudy the principal role of Bob Gaudio: Preferably tall. Strong tenor/baritenor voice. Must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies. Also needs to be comfortable with narrative text. Ability to play piano a plus, but not necessary. An intelligent, sensitive, and introspective musical prodigy. Good dancer.
ENSEMBLE MALE 3
30s. Strong actor/singer to play various roles including Norm Waxman and Hank Majewski. Will understudy the principal role of Tommy Devito: 30s. Strong tenor/baritenor voice. Must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies. Also needs to be comfortable with narrative text. Ability to play guitar a very strong plus. A natural-born leader with an appealing, bad-boy quality. Good dancer.
ENSEMBLE MALE 4
30s. Strong actor/singer to play various roles including Gyp DeCarlo: Tough, Mafioso type. Will understudy the principal role of Nick Massi: Strong bass/baritone voice. Must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies. Also needs to be comfortable with narrative text. Ability to play bass a plus, but not necessary. A quiet dreamer who longs for life after The Four Seasons. Good dancer.
FEMALE ENSEMBLE 1/MARY
20s-30s. Frankie’s wife; Tough, ‘Seen it All’, Italian, Jersey girl. She’s got a killer sense of humor. Actor also plays a variety of other roles, including member of a 60s style girl group. Strong belt useful. High straight tone soprano also useful but not required. Good Dancer.
FEMALE ENSEMBLE 2/LORRAINE
20’s-30s. Frankie’s girlfriend; Educated, NOT from Jersey, a real career girl – young Diane Sawyer; Actor also plays a variety of other roles, including member of a 60s style girl group and tough-as-nails Jersey Girl. Strong high belt useful, belt to high F EXTREMELY useful. High, straight tone soprano also useful but not required. Good Dancer.
FEMALE PARTIAL SWING/FRANCINE
20s-mid 30s. - Fabulous, versatile actress/singer/dancer with flexible vocal registers to play a variety of roles (the many girlfriends of the Four Seasons, etc). Will play the role of Francine: Frankie’s daughter; Named for, doted on and deeply loved by Frankie. She’s a Jersey girl – vulnerable, lost and acts out to make up for lack of attention from her Dad. Actor also plays a variety of other roles including member of a 60s style girl group and a tough-as-nails Jersey Girl. Strong, high belt useful. Belt to high F EXTREMELY useful, high straight tone soprano also useful but not required. Good Dancer. Will understudy the role of Mary: Frankie’s wife; Tough, ‘Seen it All’, Italian, Jersey girl.
