SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in Imagination Stage's 2025-26 Season (See breakdown). Local Washington DC/DMV actors are encouraged to audition.
Imagination Stage looks to fill all roles with adult actors who are 18+. All the roles will be understudied.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a 90-second monologue and a brief selection from an up-tempo song. If you plan on singing, please bring sheet music in the appropriate key as an accompanist will be provided. Please note that although we are a Theater for Young Audiences, your material does NOT need to be from a children's show.

SYNOPSIS: Four of Eric Carle's beloved stories are told with three actors and 77 puppets.

SEEKING:

  • Puppeteer 1: (any age/gender)

THE SNOWMAN AND THE SNOWDOG (Play with Music)

First Rehearsal: Late Oct. / Early Nov. 2025
First Preview: Late Nov. / Early Dec. 2025
Opening: Late Nov./ Early Dec. 2025
Closing: Jan. 2026

SYNOPSIS: A boy whose dog has just died moves to a new house. In the garden, he builds a snowman and then, to keep it company, a snow dog. During the night they both come to life, and the three embark on magical adventures. This movement and puppetry-based show is based on the animated film of the same name.

SEEKING:

  • Billy (M/F/NB) a young boy at the center of the story. 18+ to play younger.
  • The Chorus are Forces of Change: 8 actor / singer / puppeteers who double and triple to portray The Snowman, Mom, Santa Claus, Penguin, Snowmen from around the globe, and any other character, function or puppet the storytelling requires.

SMALL CAST WINTER/SPRING PLAY

First Rehearsal: Jan. 2026

SYNOPSIS: Join our main character on her journey of culture and confidence in this dynamic play with audience participation and music.

SYNOPSIS: This small cast musical with a modern score tells the story of one of everyone's favorite children's characters. Title to be announced pending rights application.

Five performers: 3 Male and 2 Female to portray characters from a classic children's story.
