Is on fire desperate – her stakes are crazy high. Believes in what she’s doing and is willing to do almost anything to accomplish it. Would love to be close to people, but doesn’t really understand social cues or appropriate boundaries. Has to be fierce, brilliant, but breakable and charismatic.

MOON OVER BUFFALO
BY: Ken Ludwig
1ST REH: 1/19/16. RUNS: 2/13 - 3/13

George Hay
40s-50s, male. A traveling actor and head of his own acting troupe. Not quite a “has-been” but more of a “never-was”. Although he has played some excellent roles he has always been just shy of that “big break” and is still dreaming of being the “big star” he thinks he should be. Bit of a ham with a large ego who can be overbearing but endearing. Excellent comic actor with great stage presence and physical agility. Fencing or stage combat skills are a plus.

Charlotte Hay
40s-50s, female. George's wife and actress in his company. Not a “has-been” but more of an “almost-was”. Still hankering for a major film career and tired of playing “the road” to survive. Has played all the standard leading lady roles and is probably a better actor than George. Excellent comic actress with great stage presence and ability to do physical comedy as well.

Rosalind
Roz, Female, 25-35, George & Charlotte's daughter, who left the stage to lead a normal life.

Howard
male, 25-35, a TV weatherman and Rosalind's fiancé.

Paul
male, 25-35, stage manager for George's company, and Rosalind's ex-fiancé.

Ethel
60s-70s, female. Charlotte's nearly-deaf mother. Once an actress, she now helps out backstage with wardrobe and other odds and ends. Is never aware of very much unless it’s in front of her and in a shouting tone. Is constantly mistaken in what she “hears”. Excellent comic character actress capable of delivering an occasional “put down”.

Richard
50s, male, love sick lawyer who is courting Charlotte. Friend to Charlotte and advisor to George. Good-looking and lovable with a keen wit and air of urbane sophistication. Successful and charismatic, he is attracted to Charlotte and would like to “take her away” from her life on the road. Excellent character actor with great coming timing capable of delivering “bon mots”.

Eileen
20-30, female, an actress in George's company who was George's one-night stand.
_____

AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE
1ST REH: 3/1/16. RUNS: 3/26 - 4/17
A new version of the Henrik Ibsen play by Rebecca Lenkiewicz
DIR: Kristen Coury

Doing the right thing can come at a price. When Thomas Stockmann, the town doctor, discovers something shocking that threatens to harm his community, he is poised to do whatever he can to stop it. However, this discovery threatens to harm the livelihood of his small town and the community, and the people, led by his own brother the Mayor, fight to silence him. This fast-paced thriller takes politics to a personal level in this new version of Ibsen's timeless classic, more relevant today than the day it was written.

Dr. Thomas Stockmann
male, 45-55, practicing medical doctor of the town baths, and the brother of the mayor, who got him the job at the baths. Stockmann is idealistic and excitable. For much of his life he was destitute and lived in the countryside; now he is happy to be fairly prosperous and living in a bustling town.

Peter Stockmann
male, 45-55, Peter is Dr. Stockmann's brother. Also chairman of the baths committee. He is a cautious but sometimes ruthless politician.

Petra Stockmann
female, 25-35. Daughter of Kate and Thomas Stockmann and is notable for both her independent thinking, in that she is characterized as being interested in emancipatory politics, and for the support she offers her father.

Aslaksen
male, 50-60, Aslaksen is the newspaper's printer. Because he lets the paper print on credit, he has a degree of editorial control. Also the chairman of the homeowners association, which represents the town's small business class, the majority of voters. He also has great influence with the Temperance Society, and he is a lover of moderation.

Catherine Stockmann
female, 40-50, Cate is the wife of Thomas (Dr Stockmann) and plays the role of the traditional supportive wife.

Horster
male, 40s, A ship captain who has little interest in local politics, Horster provides the hall for Doctor Stockmann's speech, but he is fired from his ship as a result.

Hovstad
male, 40s. Editor of The People's Herald, the town's leftist newspaper. Although slightly corrupt, he is at heart a political radical.

Morton Kiil
male, 60-70. Rich old man. Owns several of the tanneries that Dr. Stockmann implicates in his water pollution report. The adoptive father or grandfather (depending on the translation) of Mrs. Stockmann, and his will assigns a good deal of wealth to her and her children.

Billing
male, 25-35, An assistant at the newspaper. A radical, like Hovstad, but he is also ambitious and plans to run for office. He is in some way courting Petra.
