SEEKING
Gretna Theatre is seeking actors, singers, and actor/musicians for roles in their 2018 Summer Season, which performs in Mt. Gretna, PA from June - August. See breakdown.
PREPARATION
Please prepare a comedic monologue, OR 2 contrasting 16/32 bar musical selections, OR a combination of 1 monologue and 1 short musical cut. An accompanist will be provided. Please also bring a picture and resume.

HANK WILLIAMS : LOST HIGHWAY
1st Rehearsal - On or around June 7 2018
Performances - June 22 - June 24, 2018
Seeking:
HANK WILLIAMS - 29 years old - Described in the script as a south Alabama hillbilly singer, thin and black-eyed. He dresses in high-priced western suits and always wears a Stetson. Exceptional country singer and actor. Must play the guitar.
TEE-TOT - Any age - Black south Alabama street singer.
WAITRESS - The keeper of an all-night diner somewhere in the south. A cheerful, lonely person.
MAMA LILLY - 40s+. Character Woman. Hank’s mother. A “Marjorie Main”—strong and somewhat overbearing
HOSS - 20/30s. In Hank’s band. A big, boyish man. Plays upright (“goghouse”) bass.
JIMMY (Burrhead) - 20/30s. In Hank’s band, plays lead electric guitar. From Oklahoma, especially so in his speech.
LEON (Loudmouth) - 20/30s. In Hank's band and a skillful musician on many instruments, featured on the fiddle.
FRED ROSE (Pap) - A founder and executive of a Nashville music publishing company. Character man, 40s.
AUDREY WILLIAMS - 20/30s. Hank's first wife, later a professional widow. Quintessential southern debutante.
SHAG - The pedal steel guitarist.

Seeking:
VANYA - Late 40s-50. Living in Bucks County. Resigned to his unremarkable life living with his adopted sister. Dry but comedic.
SONIA - His adopted sister, late 40s-50. Discontent, regretful, plain, and a glass half-empty attitude.
MASHA - His sister, late 40s-50. Glamorous and successful actress who goes galivanting around the world acting younger than her age.
SPIKE - late 20s male. Sexy self-absorbed, Masha's new companion. Impressive physique (role requires partial nudity/underwear.)
NINA - 20s young woman. lovely, sincere would be actress. Visiting her aunt and uncle next door. Energetic.
CASSANDRA - All ages and ethnicities. Cleaning lady and soothsayer. Big personality with some sass.

ARPAD - young juvenile appears late teens early 20s. Delivery boy at the parfumerie. He is exuberant and ambitious. Tenor.
AMALIA - Legit Soprano - 20-30s. Lead. New employee and a skilled saleswoman, but easily intimidated. Must be excellent singer and actor.
ILONA - Belter/Mezzo - 20s-30s. Comedic . She is sexy and learned in the ways of romance, but longing for something more. A strong mover.
STEVEN KODALY - 30s - Bari-tenor. Lead. A handsome ladies man. Well respected at work and though he is considered dapper and charming, he is more of a shallow womanizer.
GEORG - 30s - Baritone. A hopeless romantic. Soft-spoken, well read and respected. Strong mover.
MR. MARACZEK - Baritone 40s+ character man. Owner of the parfumerie with a comanding presence. A disciplined business man.
LADISLAV SIPOS - 40+ baritone. A family man/huggable father type stuck in a dull existence. Not the brightest employee. Georg's confidant.

RICHARD HANNAY - late 30s-40 handsome upper-class English leading man.
WOMAN - late 20s-30s. One actress will play all the female roles - from the beautiful and intelligent romantic lead PAMELA, to the Russian mystery ANNABELLA, to the innocent Scottish farmwive MARGARET. An excellent transformative actress who can handle many dialects.
CLOWNS 1&2 - Two men - Any age any ethnicities. Superb comedic character actors who will fearlessly play 150 different roles ranging from teens - 70s. Cleaver and great with dialects.
