Actor/singers for various roles.
PREPARATION
All actors should prepare 16 bars from a song in the style of the show and a brief monologue. Total audition time not to exceed two minutes in length. Bring sheet music; accompanist provided.
Bring picture and resume.

BREAKDOWN
ALISON:
Female, Caucasian, 43ish. Lesbian cartoonist. Wry, pragmatic, smarty pants. Alison is stuck artistically, and goes in search of the pieces of the story of her father's demise in an effort to heal herself.
MEDIUM ALISON:
Female, Caucasian, 18-early 20's. The future ALISON. A college freshman. Shy ,bookish not comfortable in her own skin or sexuality yet.
HELEN:
Female, Caucasian, 43ish. Alison mother's. Attractive, composed, with a quiet coiled intensity. Everything looks perfect on the surface: well put together. She aspired to be an actress in NY, but chucked it to have a family in small town, Pennsylvania. Kind, but with low hostility available.
BRUCE:
Male, Caucasian, 43ish. Handsome, closeted gay man. High School English teacher, historic home renovator by night. An artist at heart that never made it out of the small town.. Charming on the surface, with deep layers of shame and anger at the ready when pricked
JOAN:
Female, any ethnicity, 18-early 20's. A college student. She is 19 going on 30. Confident, grounded , warm. A political lesbian
ROY/MARK/PETE:
Male, any ethnicity, a young looking 23-28. This character plays multiple roles that range from 17 - 28. Handsome, versatile, all-American. Both innocent and sexy.
