ESPEJOS: CLEAN
SYNOPSIS: The lives of two women with vastly different life experiences intersect at a resort in Cancún. Adriana manages the housekeeping staff and a world away from the home she left. Sarah, sister of the bride and the self-declared disaster of the family, is just trying to keep it together at this destination wedding. A torrential downpour forces the women together, and through a series of misunderstandings breaks open the secrets both women have taught themselves to ignore. A bilingual play with Spanish and English supertitles, Espejos: Clean is a potent look at isolation and the power of being seen.
Las vidas de dos mujeres con experiencias de vida muy diferentes se cruzan en un resort en Cancún. Adriana dirige el personal de limpieza y está a un mundo de distancia del hogar que dejó. Sarah, hermana de la novia y el autoproclamado desastre de la familia, sólo intenta no perder el control en esta boda de destino. Un aguacero torrencial une a las dos mujeres y, a través de una serie de malentendidos, revela los secretos que ambas mujeres se han entrenado a ignorar. ADRIANA: 25 to 35 years old, Hispanic woman. Adriana is a native Spanish-speaker, born and raised in Chetumal, Mexico. Adriana is immaculate, wearing a crisp pantsuit, perfect jewelry, everything neat. She is an extremely hard worker who has been through a lot in her life. She tries to be present. It is imperative that she speaks fluent Spanish with a Mexican accent.
25 a 35 años de edad, mujer hispana. Adriana es hispanohablante (primer idioma), nacida y crecida en Chetumal, México. Adriana siempre está impecable: lleva un impecable traje, joyas perfectas, y todo prolijo. Ella siempre trabaja extremadamente duro, y ha pasado por muchas cosas en su vida. Sin embargo, ella intenta estar presente. Es imperativo que hable español fluido con acento mexicano.
SARAH: 25 to 35 years old, White woman. American and sister of the bride. Has been through a lot. Sarah, despite the mess, is tougher than she looks. She never cries until page 60. Doesn't have to speak Spanish, but understanding Spanish is a plus.
