The role of BUDDY has been cast. The Role of Michael will be cast Locally.
Seeking an ethnically diverse company of AEA and non-AEA performers for the following roles:
JOVIE
Caucasian female, age 25 – 30. This role was originally played by Zooey Deschanel in the movie. A New Yorker that doesn’t have much Christmas spirit until meeting Buddy. Must have a great singing voice and be warm, affable, off-beat and funny. (Mezzo Soprano/Alto)(Range: G (below middle C) to High F, strong belt)
WALTER
Caucasian male in his 50s. This role was played by James Caan in the movie. Walter is an upscale successful businessman who has become cold and distant with his family until Buddy enters their life. A workaholic with little time left for enjoying or appreciating the simple things in life. (High Baritone/Tenor)(Range: Low A to High G)
EMILY
Caucasian female in her 40s. Wife of Walter and loving mother to Michael. A dry witted New Yorker. (Mezzo Soprano)(Range: A flat (below middle C) to D, strong belt)
DEB
Female, any ethnicity, 30s to 40s. Walter’s funny secretary, full of character and sharp wit. Great mover with an amazing singing voice. (Mezzo Soprano/Alto)(Range: Middle C to D, strong belt)
MR. GREENWAY
Male, any ethnicity in his 50s. A shrewd businessman, must have an amazing singing voice and impeccable comic timing. (High Baritone/Tenor)(Range: D sharp to High A)
SANTA
Male, Caucasian in his 50s or 60s. A jolly, warm, funny, down to earth, beer and pizza kind of Santa with a great singing voice. (Baritone)(Range: Low A to E (above middle C)
STORE MANAGER
Male, non-white in his 30s or 40s. Funny, physically large, full of character, lots of attitude, sassy and spirited. Must be able to sing well and have great comic timing. (High Baritone/Tenor)(Range: Low B to High F sharp)
COMEDIC FEMALE ENSEMBLE DANCER/SINGERS
Female, all ethnicities, to play 20s to early 30s, funny, attractive, smart, seeking very strong dancers with big personalities who sing very well. Dancers should have some tap background and a strong sense of style. Some tap required.
