[DETECTIVE LOU RABY] Male Identifying, 20’s to mid-30’s. Hard-boiled detective with the San Francisco Police Department. Determination concealed by an affable and disarming approach -- before he gets tough. Also a businessman, a jogger in the park, a litterbug, and a coffee house beatnik. Vocal range: A2-G4. ENSEMBLE
[LILI VON VONDERGRAFF] Female Identifying, 30’s. Flamboyant high fashion New York art dealer. Confident, manipulative, direct. Also a nurse, a female art critic, the mother of a bratty little girl, Frankie the Cat (puppet), and raccoon (puppet). Vocal range: A3-G#5. ENSEMBLE
[BEATNIK GIRL] Female Identifying, 20's. Cool, hip, confident. Comments on the action and drives it forward. Also Julie (waitress at the coffee shop), art fanatic, Cab driver, a bratty little girl, director of the ASPCA, and a Pigeon (puppet). Vocal range: A3-E5. ENSEMBLE
[BEATNIK GUY] Male Identifying, 20’s. Cool, hip, confident, and a counterpart to Beatnik Girl. Also Greg (fellow modern dancer with Carla), Freddie (waiter at the coffee shop), art fanatic, a mugger, and Possum (puppet). Vocal range: A2-A4. ENSEMBLE
[CLIVE] Male Identifying, mid-20s' to early 30's. A cool hepcat/beatnik. Friendly and enthusiastic, as well as a stoner. Also Mayor, Alfred (fellow modern dancer with Carla), a baker, guy looking for the plant store, a photographer, a male art critic, a kid in a gang, and a delivery man. Vocal range: A2-F4. ENSEMBLE
[MRS. SWICKERT] THIS ROLE IS CAST. Female Identifying, mid 40’s to late 50’s. Walter’s landlady, somewhat lonely, and has an eye for Walter. She ends up becoming one of his sculptures. Strong comedic abilities. Vocal range: G3-A5. FEATURED ROLE.
