Rodgers & Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA
CINDERELLA – Soprano. Any race/ethnicity. Kindhearted and loving beauty. Starts timid and unsure of her worth and beauty. Over the course of the show discovers and grows into her confidence.
FAIRY GODMOTHER – Soprano. Any race/ethnicity. Warm. Smart. Quick. Mother-like figure. Helps Cinderella discover who she truly is.
STEPMOTHER – Mezzo-Soprano. Any race/ethnicity. Cruel and vain. Does not consider Cinderella her daughter. Obsessed with status.
GRACE / JOY – Mezzo-Sopranos. Any race/ethnicity. Cinderella’s stepsisters. Quick to jump on putting down Cinderella – as well as each other. Strong comedic skills.
CHRISTOPHER – Baritone. Any race/ethnicity. The charming young prince of the kingdom. In search of his purpose. Kindhearted.
LIONEL – Tenor. Any race/ethnicity. Prince Christopher’s Royal Steward. Comedic.
QUEEN CONSTANTINA – Mezzo-Soprano. Any race/ethnicity. Prince Christopher’s mother. Supportive. Kind.
KING MAXIMILLIAN – Baritone. Any race/ethnicity. Prince Christopher’s mother. Supportive. Kind.
