AEA Performers Only. Looking for performers with substantial credits for principal roles.

Preparation
Prepare a brief comedic monologue of your choice in the style of the play. Please be prepared to do your monologue in a British RP dialect. All roles in “Cash On Delivery” will be performed using an RP dialect.

Breakdown

[ERIC SWAN] Male, Any Ethnicity. 28 to 45. 5’10’ and taller. Nice guy who is smart and craft, but gets caught up in his own scheme. Dick Van Dyke type with strong physical comedy skills. Energetic and must be likable.

?[LINDA SWAN] Female, Any Ethnicity. 25-45. Eric’s wife. Very attractive and confident. She is gentle, loving and totally unaware of what’s going on.

[NORMAN MCDONALD] Male, Any Ethnicity. 30 to 40. Sweet natured and quick-witted. Bright, but gullible. Game for anything. Actor must have strong physical comedy skills.

[MR. JENKINS] Male, Any Ethnicity. 50-60. A well put-together, uptight British bureaucrat type. His work is his life.

[UNCLE GEORGE u/s] Please note that the role of Uncle George is CAST. Seeking the understudy only. Male, Any Ethnicity. 65. Eric's Uncle and partner in crime. Congenial, but devious. Actor must have strong physical comedy skills and has a great Cockney dialect.

[SALLY CHESSINGTON] Female, Any Ethnicity. 30-40. Pretty and naïve. A social worker. Aggressively helpful and dedicated to her job. Very straight forward.

[DOCTOR CHAPMAN] Male, Any Ethnicity. 45-55. A marriage counselor who reads dysfunction into everything. Distinguished with a sense of gravity.

[MR. FORBRIGHT] Male, Any Ethnicity. 60-65. An undertaker. Very officious and thinks he’s in charge.?

[MS. COWPER] Female, Any Ethnicity. 50-55. Buxom. Dragon lady boss. Very dominant and commanding.

[BRENDA DIXON] Female, Any Ethnicity. 25-30. Kind of Sally Struthers in 'All in the Family.’ Positive, but emotional, must be a good crier.
