DAVID BROWN - 50’s, baritone. New York producer of substantial power and respect who nonetheless maintains a professorial and pragmatic personal approach to his colleagues.

RICHARD ZANUCK – Early 40’s, baritone. A producer of incredible power and stature and showmanship. PETER BENCHLEY / ROBERT SHAW - Mid 30’s to mid 40’s, baritone. Benchley is professorial, a journalist in the old-school tradition. Shaw is a Lancashire-born actor of Scottish decent with the capacity for liquor to prove it.

STEVEN SPIELBERG - 26 years old, at times he appears older AND young than his age, pop tenor. Director.

DICK RICHARDS / BOB MATTEY - Late 40’s to mid 60’s, baritone. Dick is slightly cartoonish in his Hollywood director. Bob, the creative designer of Bruce, is grounded and pragmatic.

JOE ALVES - Mid 30’s, high baritone. Exceptionally creative, yet practical production designer.

SHARI RHODES – Early 30’s, alto belt. Texas firecracker, casting director. She is boundlessly energetic and always grateful for her luck/success.

VERNA FIELDS - Mid 40’s, alto. Verna is creative, resourceful and in her way, nurturing. She is fiercely loyal and quick witted.

LORRAINE GARY - Late 30’s to early 40’s, alto belt. Down to-earth, charming, and warm actor. She has a terrific sense of humor - including about the power and privilege she has in the industry.

CARL GOTTLIEB - Mid to late 30’s, character baritone. Warm, diligent, and quick witted writer and actor.

ROY SCHEIDER - Early 40’s, high baritone. A serious actor, he remains a strong team player and holds his temper for as long as possible.

RICKY DREYFUSS - Mid to late 20’, tenor. He is extremely gifted as an actor but not entirely self-aware.

ENSEMBLE MEN

TRACK 1: THOMAS CONGDON / JOHN WILLIAMS / ENSEMBLE - Late 40’s to mid 50’s, low baritone, strong flexible character actor.

TRACK 2: BILL BUTLER / ENSEMBLE - 40’s, high baritone. As Bill Butler, the Director of Photography, he is sharp and inventive.

TRACK 3: AGENT 4 / RON TAYLOR/ MURRAY HAMILTON / ENSEMBLE - Early 40’s, character vocal, low baritone.

TRACK 4: OCEANOGRAPHER/ JONATHAN FILLEY/ ENSEMBLE - Early 20’s, Strong show-tenor.

ENSEMBLE WOMEN

TRACK1: VALERIE/ AGENT 2 / ENSEMBLE - mid 20’s to early 30’s. Flexible vocal alto to mezzo.

TRACK2: ROBERTA/ ENSEMBLE - Mid 30’s to early 40’s, flexible alto to mezzo. Character flexibility, and comic timing.

TRACK 3: ICHTHYOLOGIST / LEE FIERRO / ENSMEBLE – Late 40’s to possibly early 50’s. Character vocal, alto belt.

TRACK 4: LOCAL BEACH GIRL / SUSAN BACKLINIE / ENSEMBLE- 20s, a strong show-belt vocal to C.
