Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.
Holding/Audition room information:
The audition room can accommodate no more than 45 individuals at a time.
The holding room can accommodate no more than 35 individuals at a time.
All roles will be understudied.
Actors of any race, ethnicity, ability, or gender identity for the following roles:
BELLE. (she/her) 16-25. Soprano (low A to high F) A strong, spirited, independent, courageous, young woman. Genuine and kind. She doesn't know where she fits as she doesn't seem to belong in her village. A strong singer connected to her emotions.
BEAST (he/him). 25-40. Baritone (A to high F) A Prince transformed into a terrifying beast for his lack of compassion and empathy. He is hot-tempered and commanding, but has a warm, loving heart buried far beneath his gruff exterior. Very physical role, and requires comedic timing. A very strong singer with a large presence.
MRS. POTTS (she/her) 40-65. Alto/Mezzo (Low F# to High G) A warm-hearted, maternal, magical teapot. A very strong singer. British accent.
GASTON (he/him) 18-35. Baritone (A t High F) The egotistical, shallow, and narcissistic villain of the story determined to marry Belle. He is charismatic, manipulative and vain. A strong singer who moves well.
LUMIERE (he/him) 20-50. Baritenor (A to high F#) A suave, debonair enchanted candelabra. He is a loyal and steadfast servant. Movement a plus and great comedic timing. The perfect host. A strong character who moves well. Speaks with French accent.
COGSWORTH (he/him) 30-60. Baritone (A to High E). A tightly-wound, enchanted mantle clock and the head of the Beast's household. He is uptight, strict, and punctual but also hard-working, faithful, and thorough. Speaks with British accent. A strong singer.
BABETTE (she/her) 25-35 Mezzo-soprano (C to C). A saucy, enchanted feather-duster, and the object of Lumiere's affections. She is a strong willed, flirtatious. Strong movement. Speaks with a French accent.
MADAME DE LA GRANDE BOUCHE (she/her) 35-60 Soprano (C# to high G) A former opera diva turned-enchanted wardrobe. She has a caring, refined, larger than life personality. Has a large presence.
MAURICE (he/him) 50-60 Baritone (Bb to high Db) Belle's father. A scatter-brained inventor. Kind and gentle. Loves his daughter and is fiercely protective of her when danger approaches.
LES FILLES DE LA VILLE (she/her) 16-30 Three pretty girls who swoon over Gaston. All move well. All ranges. Possible understudies.
LEFOU (he/him) 20-40 Baritone (B to high F#) Gaston's bumbling sidekick. He is Gaston's loyal friend with more compassion. A strong character with great physical comedy skills.
CHIP (any gender) unchanged voice (D to high D) 7-12. Mrs. Potts inquisitive child who has been turned into a teacup.
MONSIEUR D'ARQUE (he/him) Tenor (D to high A) 40 plus. Scheming proprietor of the insane asylum. Strong character who can play age as well as be physically agile. Possible understudy.
ENSEMBLE (he/him) Baritenor or tenor. 20 to 40. Will understudy.
