LAKE GEORGE DINNER THEATRE 2025 SEASONS

GUYS ON ICE

First Rehearsal: June 23
Opening Night: July 11
Closing Night: August 30
LGDT performs 7-8 shows per week. MARVIN and LLOYD are working class guys from northern Wisconsin. They may seem a little slow on the uptake, but there is a native intelligence and wry good humor that suggests active thought life. There is a casual pace to life in Door County, especially in the winter. No locals are in a hurry to get anywhere.
NOTE: All must have an impeccable Wisconsin accent with great comedic timing and strong vocal ability. Songs feature close harmonies and some a cappella singing. The show will be performed with piano only. Lake George Dinner Theatre is a small venue, and actors will not be wearing body mics.

SEEKING:

LLOYD (age range 35-50; Tenor range D3-E4, occasionally up to Bb4) A married ice fisherman.
MARVIN (age range 35-50; Bari-tenor range C3-E4, occasionally up to G4) A bachelor ice fisherman.
ERNIE (age range 35-50; Baritone range A2-E4) A moocher. The kind of guy who always says the wrong thing, maybe on purpose, maybe not. In other cultures he would be a coyote or trickster. Up here he’s just a pain in the butt. Ability to play any type of hand-held instrument that can sound goofy or sentimental a plus (harmonica, ukulele, trombone, accordion, etc).

INCIDENT AT OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP

First Rehearsal: August 25
Opening Night: September 12
Closing Night: October 11

SEEKING:

LINDA O’SHEA (19-year-old female) Linda is highly intelligent, caring, and curious. She alternates between thinking she knows everything and thinking she knows nothing. Responsible and rarely impetuous. Narrates the story directly to the audience.
JOSEPHINE ‘JO’ O’SHEA (late 40s, early 50s female) Jo juggles more plates than Cirque de Soleil. A great mom who defines multi-tasking. She's also a little more emotional and prone to outbursts than usual because, well...you’ll see.
THERESA ‘TERRI’ CARMICHAEL (late 50s female) Terri is definitely going through a rough patch, but she is not a depressive or phlegmatic. Think Thelma Ritter or Eve Arden, with a touch of Dorothy Parker. Fast talker.
BECKY O’SHEA (18+ to play 13-year-old, female) Becky is an unusual child. Bright and verbal. Full of energy and a crazy-huge imagination. She speaks quickly, not unlike some of the characters in the movies she loves, like His Girl Friday.
MIKE O’SHEA / FATHER LOVETT / BETTY HECKENBACH (50s, Male). MIKE is loud, loyal, and single-task oriented. His definition of a father is: Breadwinner and disciplinarian. Lousy listener. FATHER LOVETT is an old school, Catholic priest. Egotistical, imperious, and pampered. Unused to any kind of pushback from parishioners or anyone else for that matter. BETTY HECKENBACH, There is a Betty Heckenbach in everyone's life. She's right up there with death and taxes — only less fun. Played absolutely straight — no winking or flamboyance. Just a homely, judgmental, middle-aged woman sticking her big puss into other people's business.
