JANE AUSTEN: mid 30’s to mid 40’s, strong actress with strong voice. Witty, clever and thoughtful with a touch of snarkiness. As a recently published female author in Regency- era England, she is ahead of her time. Over the course of the story telling, Austen also assumes the role of MRS. REYNOLDS (Darcy’s housekeeper). Mezzo-belter. (G3 to F5) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
ELIZABETH BENNET: mid 20’s to early 30’s, The Bennet’s second oldest daughter. A non-traditional beauty. Lizzy has something more of quickness than her sisters. She has a lively, playful disposition, which delights in anything ridiculous. She is good-humored and has a quick-wit. Soprano with belt. (A3 to G5) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
CASSANDRA AUSTEN/ CHARLOTTE LUCAS: mid 30’s to mid 40’s, Jane Austen’s sister. Protective and practical. Austen’s most trusted confidante. Over the course of the story telling, she assumes the roles of CHARLOTTE LUCAS. CHARLOTTE: Elizabeth’s best friend, of average beauty, modest, sensible and intelligent. Mezzo-belter. (A3 to E5) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
MRS. BENNET/LADY CATHERINE DE BOURGH: late 40’s to early 50’s. MRS. BENNET: a high-strung mother of the five Bennet daughters. Once a young woman of youth, beauty and good humor; now a wife and mother of mean understanding, little information and uncertain temper. The business of her life is to get her daughters married; its solace is visiting and news. LADY CATHERINE DE BOURGH: authoritative and self-important with striking features, Darcy’s aunt. Soprano with belt. (C4 to A5) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
JANE BENNET: mid 20’s to early 30’s, the Bennet’s eldest daughter, extremely beautiful and lovely with a fair complexion. A kind and gentle soul. She never sees a fault in any body. All the world is good and agreeable in her eyes. She has never spoken ill of a human being in her life. Soprano. (A-flat3 to E5) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
MARY BENNET/GEORGIANA DARCY: MARY: early 20’s, the only plain one in the family, she has worked hard for knowledge and accomplishments. She enjoys singing and playing the piano but is delightfully unaware of her lack of skill. Puritanical in nature. NOTE: Actress is NOT required to play piano. GEORGIANA DARCY: 16, Mr. Darcy’s sister. She is gentle and graceful. There is sense and good humor in her face and her manners are perfectly unassuming and kind. She is a girl not a woman. Mezzo belter. (A3 to E5) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
LYDIA BENNET: Early 20’s with strong dance skills. The Bennet’s youngest daughter. Beautiful and well-endowed at an early age. She loves to laugh and loves to gossip. Also self-willed and careless. Soprano with belt. (A3 to G5) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
KITTY BENNET early to mid 20’s. KITTY: 17, She is the typical middle child that is always fighting for attention to be noticed. Somewhat silly and fretful, though is less temperamental than Lydia. Soprano with belt. (G3 to E5) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
CAROLINE BINGLEY/ MRS. GARDINER: CAROLINE: mid 20’s to early 30’s. Bingley’s sister. Fashionable, conceited and proud. MRS. GARDNER: Elizabeth’s elegant, amiable, warm and gracious aunt. Actress must have a strong sense of comedy. Soprano. (B3-G5) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
FITZWILLIAM DARCY: late 20’s to mid 30’s. Tall, dark, handsome, and extremely wealthy. At first he appears to be aloof and above it all but is also kind and generous to those he is responsible for. Baritone. (A2-G#4) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
MR. BENNET: late 40’s to early 50’s. Elizabeth’s father, a country gentleman with an odd mixture of quick wit, sarcastic humor, reserve, and caprice. Baritone. (A2-E3). Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
CHARLES BINGLEY: mid 20’s to early 30’s. BINGLEY: a good-looking wealthy bachelor; easy going and friendly. Darcy’s best friend. He has a quirky sense of humor. Seeking a strong mover. Tenor. (E#3- A4) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
GEORGE WICKHAM: mid 20’s to mid 30’s. Extremely attractive and sexy soldier (grew up with Darcy); Seeking a strong mover. Bari-tenor. (C3-G4) Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
MR. COLLINS/MR. GARDINER: late 20’s to early 30’s. A clergyman; He is falsely entitled and will not take no for an answer. Strong comic skills and physical comedy talent is a plus. Tenor. (D3-A4). Will also play MR. GARDINER (Mrs. Bennet’s friendly brother, Elizabeth’s uncle). Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.

SHREK

SHREK – A big, green, terrifying ogre who lives alone on a swamp. He embarks on a journey to rid his land of fairytale creatures, and, along the way, falls in love with Fiona. Begins as a grumpy hermit, but reveals his layers and eventually becomes the hero. Comedic chops and strong singer. Age 25-45. Vocal range: A2-G#4. Actively seeking all ethnicities for this role.
PRINCESS FIONA – The princess of Far Far Away, she transforms into an ogre every night when the sun sets. Rescued by Shrek and eventually falls in love with him. Quirky, blunt and multitalented. Comedic chops and strong singer. Age 25-35. Vocal range: F3-G6.
TEEN FIONA – Fiona’s younger self. Age 12-18.
YOUNG FIONA – Fiona’s younger self. Age 8-12.
DONKEY – A talking donkey who joins Shrek on the run from Farquaad’s guards. Quite the chatterbox, he is not deterred by Shrek’s looks and practically forces himself into his good graces. Easily frightened and pushy, but also an optimistic with heart. Age 20-35. Vocal range: C3-B4.
LORD FARQUAAD – The comically short, ruthless ruler of Duloc. He is in search of a princess to marry so that he can become king. He has an intensely unfair bias against fairytale creatures that stems from a resentment of his father. Self-absorbed, lonely, and cruel. Doubles as GUARD in swamp and KNIGHT in Forever. Age 30-45. Vocal range: B2-D5.
DRAGON – A dragon that has been charged with guarding Princess Fiona in her isolated castle. She eventually falls in love with Donkey and attempts to keep him there forever. Imposing and flirtatious, but tired of her job as a glorified baby-sitter. Doubles as MAMA BEAR and DULOC PERFORMER. Age 25-45. Vocal range: F3-Eb5.
GINGY – A gingerbread man initially kidnapped by Lord Farquaad. His wit and resolution help him both avoid trouble and inspire the rest of the fairytale creatures. Puppet. Doubles as WICKED WITCH and BLUEBIRD. Age 20-40. Vocal range: B3-C#5.
PINOCCHIO – The leader of the fairytale creatures. He is an animated puppet whose nose grows every time he lies. Plenty of sass with a penchant for lying. Doubles as DULOC PERFORMER and KNIGHT in Forever. Age 20-40. Vocal range: E3-F#4.
WOLF – Famous adversary of Little Red Riding Hood. Doubles as THELONIUS, DULOC PERFORMER, KNIGHT in Forever, BISHOP, GRUMPY DWARF. Vocal range: E3-F#4.
ENSEMBLE – Strong singers, dancers and comedic actors to play Fairytale Creatures, etc.

STU FOR SILVERTON

[STU] – 40s to 60s, plays non-binary. Open to all voice types. An entrepreneur, politician, movie theatre owner, and leader in the small rural town of Silverton, Oregon. Stu was named the nation's first transgender mayor when elected in 2008, although Stu identifies as a gender anarchist. Stu is as much methodical as bold, equal parts brave and kind, pragmatic while also maintaining fabulous, and all at once a mechanic, Rocky Horror lover, inventor, vintage shoe collector, and Oregonian. Frankenfurter meets Dolly Levi. SEEKING TRANS/NON-BINARY PERFORMERS ONLY FOR THIS ROLE.
[VIC] – 40s to 60s, plays female. Strong belter. Thought she would always live a city-solo life but instead fell in love with Stu and ended up in Silverton – she really wants this conventional town to wake up and shake up. Loves thrifts sales, flea markets, runs a small business, has a wild internal life, loves The Rocky Horror Picture show and is never afraid to speak her mind.
[BARB] – 40s to 60s, plays female. Strong belter. A good friend of Stu’s since high school, the queen of Silverton – runs a salon, looks fabulous at all times, plays hostess to the book-club, organizes Zumba, and really is the beating heart of this small community. If she does it, everyone else will.
[JOE] – 40s to 60s, plays male. Baritone. All-American, recently lost his job at a hardware store, best friends with Stu until Stu transitions, father of Timmy, husband of Sharon, trying to make ends meet during the recession of 2008.
[SHARON] – 40s to 55, plays female. Belt/Soprano mix. Married to Joe, a bit younger, mother to Timmy (the last of her children -perhaps an accident), wise, considerate, a bit frazzled as she's burning the candle at both ends to be a good mom, wife, citizen, sides with Stu and takes over the power in the household when her husband loses his job.
[JEAN-ANNE] – 80s+, plays female. Strong belter. The grandmother to everyone in the town, beloved, opinionated, religious, the matriarch of Silverton in many ways – very close to Stu’s family until Stu’s transition disrupts this relationship.
[HODGETT] – 40s to 60s, plays male. Baritone. The mayor of Silverton for many years, representative of the career politicians who sit in office and don’t get much done.
[TIMMY] – 13 to 15, plays male. Strong belter (in a low alto range). Son of Sharon and Joe, in a way a lot like Stu when younger – perhaps a bit odd and ahead of the curve - smart, sensitive and independent.
[GRACE] – 30s to 50s, plays female. Runs a diner in Silverton, quiet, big smile, doesn’t speak up much, hungry for community.
[MS. MALONEY-MILLER] – 30s to 50s, plays female. Strong mix/belt. Art teacher at the local high school - running out of support, funds, and energy. Believes education is the way forward for any child, and what might save Silverton.
[ENSEMBLE] – early 20s – early 60s. All voice types. Seeking performers of all types and all gender identities (ie Trans, Non-Binary).
[MALE ENSEMBLE MINOR] -- 15+. Strong belter (in a low alto range)

SISTER ACT

DELORIS VAN CARTIER – An aspiring performer trying to find her place in the world. She is forced to hide in a convent and initially refuses to embrace her new lifestyle but is inspired by the choir. She’s sassy and caring. Vocal range: E3-F#5
MOTHER SUPERIOR – The head of the convent. She is sarcastic and a bit stiff. She is protective of the convent and the sisters and wants to keep the outside world out. Vocal range: D3-E5.
SISTER MARY ROBERT – A postulant who was raised at the convent. She is soft-spoke, but singing with Deloris helps her find her voice. Vocal range: F#3-A5
SISTER MARY PATRICK – A nun in the convent. Consistently perky and easily excited.
SISTER MARY LAZARUS – A nun of the convent and head of the choir. She is least welcoming to Deloris. Vocal range: F3-B4
MONSIGNOR O’HARA – One of the heads of the convent. Concerned with the stability of the convent, and a confidant to Mother Superior. Vocal range: E3-G4
CURTIS – A club owner, notorious gangster and Deloris’s boyfriend. He is very controlling and on the verge of violence. Vocal range: A2-Ab4
EDDIE SOUTHER – The desk chief at the Philadelphia police station and a high school classmate of Deloris. He sweats profusely under pressure and suffers from a bad case of anxiety. He dreams of being a match for Deloris. Vocal range: Ab2-B4
TJ – Curtis’s nephew and one of his thugs. He is constantly ignorant of the world around him. Vocal range: Db3-Eb5
JOEY – One of Curtis’s thugs. Believes himself to be a ladies’ man. Vocal range: Bb2-Eb5
PABLO – One of Curtis’s thugs. A natural follower. Spanish speaker. Vocal range: C4-F5.
SISTER MARY MARTIN-OF-TOURS – A nun of the convent. She lives in her own world, but has moments of clarity.
SISTER MARY THERESA – A nun of the convent, the oldest of the group. Decrepit at a glance, but packs a punch.
MICHELLE – One of Deloris’s back-up singers. Always quick with a comeback. Vocal range: Bb3-F5.
TINA – One of Deloris’s back-up singers. A little naïve. Vocal range: Ab3-F5.
ERNIE – One of Curtis’s thugs. Initially thought to be a yes-man, he turns out to be an undercover police informant.
ENSEMBLE – Must be strong singers and dancers.

EVITA

EVA PERON – The first lady of Argentina from 1946-1952. Born in poverty, she rose to great power in her lifetime. A strong, versatile performer. Must be charismatic and commanding. Vocal range: Low E to High G. Actively seeking Latinx performer.
CHE GUEVARA -- Based on the real-life Argentine guerilla revolutionary. Serves as the antagonist to Eva. The charismatic narrator. Vocal range: Low B flat to High B flat. Actively seeking Latinx performer.
JUAN PERON -- A prominent army office who becomes the President of Argentina. Charming and stately. Legit baritone. Vocal range: Low A to High F#. Actively seeking Latinx performer.
MAGALDI -- A tango singer and Eva’s first love interest. Vocal range: Middle C to High G. Latino. Actively seeking Latinx performer.
ENSEMBLE – Strong singers and dancers. Tango experience a plus. Actively seeking Latinx performers.
