Want to start fall on a high note? Whether you're after family fun or a date night to remember, Edmonton's 2019 fall theatre season has a little something for everyone!

Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium

Rent (September 3-8): This Tony and Pulitzer prize award-winning rock musical has captivated worldwide audiences since 1996. A poignant re-imagining of Puccini's La Bohème, Rent chronicles the lives of seven struggling artists over the course of a year. Its greatest hits include Seasons of Love, Take Me or Leave Me, and La Bohème.

Waitress (November 26-December 1): Based on the 2007 film, Waitress is the sweet hit musical scored by songstress Sara Bareilles. This Tony-nominated tour-de-force features waitress and expert pie maker Jenna, who seeks solace from her turbulent marriage in her daring culinary creations. Popular songs include She Used to Be Mine, What Baking Can Do, and Bad Idea.

Citadel Theatre

The Colour Purple (September 21-October 13): This multi-award winning musical tells the story of Celie, an African-American woman dealing with the hardships and prejudice of the 1930s deep south.

Fight Night (October 17-27): This interactive production invites audiences to ponder the meaning of life, personal prejudice, and consider their roles in the political landscape.

Six (November 1-24): A West End hit and soon-to-be Broadway smash, Six makes its highly-anticipated Canadian debut at the Citadel Theatre. Smart, sassy, and sensational, Six turns the spotlight on the doomed wives of the notorious King Henry V111, illuminating not only their short-lived reigns but celebrating girl power.

Mayfield Dinner Theatre

Million Dollar Quartet (September 3-October 27): This Tony-nominated musical gives audiences a backstage pass to a one-of-a-kind jam session. Rock out with musical legends Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley in this rollicking 1956 re-enactment.

Class of '63: A Rockin' Reunion (November 5-January 26): Join the graduating class of 1963 for an unforgettable night of '60s rock anthems, rekindled romance, and legendary fashion.

Teatro de La Quindicina

Vidalia (September 26-October 12): A contemporary counterpart to the classic screwball comedy, Vidalia combines espionage and onions along with chic aesthetics. Local favourites Belinda Cornish and Andrew Macdonald-Smith lead the cast.

Community Theatre

Silent Sky (October 2-12): The true story of 19th century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt comes to life at the Walterdale Theatre. Along with like-minded female peers, this trail-blazing scientist made a name for herself in a male-dominated industry, fighting discrimination and overcoming odds.

The Roommate (October 23-November 10): Described as The Odd Couple meets Breaking Bad, The Roommate is a dark dramedy featuring voodoo dolls, telephone scams, and, you guessed it, an unconventional roommate. This offbeat production will play the Shadow Theatre.

Beauty and the Beast (November 8-17): Foote in the Door Productions invites you to be their guest at their rendition of the beloved Disney classic. Purchase tickets for the November 16 matinee sing-a-long for an extra-magical experience!
