Doo-Wop Yule Pop combines the genre's most memorable hits with the classic standards of the holiday season for a mega memory combination at the Fox Theatre on Friday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. Part of the Fifth Third Bank Holiday Series.

The recent record-breaking PBS-TV music specials, "50 Years of Doo-Wop" were so well received that it created a new showcase and new audiences for veteran Doo-Wop artists, resulting in additional PBS TV specials. Now these 13 original artists, whose combined sales number over 250 million records, are back on the road performing live, treating 50-something concertgoers to the songs they danced to at sock hops, while allowing younger audiences to discover that Doo-Wop is feel-good music no matter what your age. This music is like a first love that no one ever forgets.

An impressive list of those original artists will be part of Doo-Wop Yule Pop. Headlining the show are: From the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, Charlie Thomas' Drifters (On Broadway, There Goes My Baby, Up on the Roof, White Christmas), From the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, Shirley Alston-Reeves (Soldier Boy, Met Him on a Sunday, Dedicated to the One I Love, Happy Holidays), Jay Siegel & The Tokens with their special guest, Jay Traynor (The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Portrait of my Love, Tonight I Fell in Love, Little Drummer Boy, She Cried), Jimmy Beaumont & The Skyliners (Since I Don't Have You, Pennies from Heaven, This I Swear, You're My Christmas Present), Eugene Pitt & The Jive Five (My True Story, What Time is it, Merry Christmas Baby), Rhythm & Blues Pioneer Award Winners, The Spaniels featuring Willie C. Jackson (Goodnight Sweetheart, Baby It's You, Peace of Mind), Kathy Young (A Thousand Stars, Magic is the Night, Happy Birthday Blues, Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree),The Edsels (Rama Lama Ding Dong, Love is True, Winter Wonderland), The Volumes (I Love You, Sands of Time, Hey Santa Claus), The Reflections (Just Like Romeo & Juliet, Jingle Bells), The Blue Suede Orchestra (Buzz Buzz Buzz), and Deke & The Blazers (Doo-Wop Straight from the Heart).
