ELF the Musical opens the Fox Theatre's holiday season with a very "sparkle, jolly, twinkle, jingley" way if Buddy the Elf had his way to describe it. The show is the perfect way to start the season full of love and Christmas cheer with lots of laughter from the silly antics of everyone's favorite human who thinks he is an elf!
ELF the Musical is based on the 2003 beloved hit movie, but expanded for the stage with lots of holiday cheer through song and dance. The hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphaned baby, who crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and ends up back at the North Pole where he is raised by elves. Buddy thinks he is an elf his whole life, but once he finds out the truth he heads to New York City to meet his father and discover who really is. What follows is a heartwarming journey with lots of hilarious antics along the way!
Spenser Micetich plays Buddy the Elf and does a great job at it. Fans of the film will love his performance, but fans of the stage will be in love with his voice. Micetich is so humorous on stage that he really makes the audience love Buddy for the first time or fall in love with him all over again. Daisy Carnelia is Jovie and she is the perfect pairing for Micetich. The two of them bring out a lot of laughter from the audience. Carneila can also sing beautifully and her solo song "Never Fall in Love" is a showstopper.
ELF the Musical is story that most people may know because of the movie, but seeing it on stage is a different experience - a worthwhile experience. The show is fun; it is happy; and most of all, it is the perfect way to start the holiday season no matter what you celebrate because it will just put you in a good mood. After all, even Buddy sings, "give the world a holiday that's bright as can be, make it sparkle, jolly, twinkle, jingley!"
