THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE Adds Five Performances at DM Playhouse

The Des Moines Community Playhouse has added five performances of THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE at 4:00 PM, Sunday, Jan. 24; 7:00 PM, Friday, Jan. 29; 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, Saturday, Jan. 30; and 1:00 PM, Sunday, Jan. 31.

Tickets for this and the originally scheduled performances, Jan. 8-24, can be purchased online at www.dmplayhouse.com, by phone at 515-277-6261, and at the Playhouse ticket office. In addition to the added performances, the performance at 1:00 PM, Saturday, Jan. 16, will have ASL interpretation provided by Deaf Services Unlimited.

Journey with Peter (Jack Ray), Susan (Julia Polson), Edmund (Sam Wilson), and Lucy (Alice Anderson) through the old wardrobe into the land of Narnia. Narnia is a magical land, populated by Tumnus the Faun (Chance Bender), Mr. and Mrs. Beaver (Brian Bopp, Maddie Ripperger), unicorns, centaurs, and other forest animals. But danger lurks as The White Witch (Stephanie Schneider) wages war against Narnia's rightful king, Aslan the lion (Isaac Anderson).

The Playhouse is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
