Victor/Victoria, with book by Blake Edwards, lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, and music by Henry Mancini, with additional music by Frank Wildhorn, is making its Iowa Premiere through June 4 at Revival Theatre Company. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
What's a down-and-out British soprano struggling to find work in a 1930s Paris nightclub supposed to do? Dress as a man, of course! While trying to scam a free meal, Victor meets cabaret performer Toddy who comes up with an idea that will change everything. Acting as her manager, Toddy bills Victor as a male female impersonator. When the nightclubs eat it up, the duo makes it big - even a Chicago mobster is enamored with Victor ... or is it Victoria? But keeping the truth a secret is no easy task. Victor/Victoria is filled with door-slamming, cross-dressing musical acts and beautiful Broadway-style production numbers. Our final show of the year will have you taking Paris by night in the hit musical comedy Victor/Victoria.
