Just like the BWW College Center, the High School Center offers a directory featuring upcoming show listings for high schools nationwide. Schools can register for 'enhanced' listings on the site - adding in photos, cast lists, videos, links and more. Productions that take advantage of this will receive highlights on our listing pages, extra editorial mentions and potential spotlight features.

This week, we shine a spotlight on Benton Community High School in Van Horne, Iowa!

Benton Community High offers courses in Band (jazz band, marching band, and pep band), Music (show choirs, concert choirs, chamber choir and madrigal choir), Speech and Theatre. The Theatre department producers a Fall musical and a Spring play each year.

The goal of the Benton Theater department is to use exploration of drama to promote self-expression and poise in a safe, fun learning environment. Students will gain an appreciation of all aspects of theater through classroom activities and on stage performances in musicals and plays. Learners will become responsible citizens, as well as creative actors and technicians, while sharing theatrical experiences with the school district and the community.

For its fall production, Benton Theatre will present the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT on November 1, 2 and 3, 2012. Directed by Lois Deerberg, the show will feature Maxwell Tiedemann in the title role, Cormick Michael as 'Jacob', and Ellie Horst, Willow Huber and Hannah Miller will share the role of the Narrator.
