On Friday, October 30, the Des Moines Playhouse presents Des Moines' premiere costume party, Hollywood Halloween. Hollywood Halloween 2009 will be held 6:30 P.M. at Hy-Vee Conference Center in West Des Moines.

In its seventh year, Hollywood Halloween is an extraordinary evening filled with ghoulish costumes, dancing, and theatrical performances by Playhouse performers. Dinner will be served at Hollywood film- and Broadway show-themed tables from some of the area's top designers. Dancing to the music
of Freestyle will follow dinner entertainment and live auction. The auction, with both a live and silent component, features nearly 20 packages including fine art and jewelry, food and wine, and weekend get-aways. Among the live auction items are an artist's proof by nationally known photographer Anna Gaskell, weeklong stays at Pennsylvania and Colorado retreats, a Chicago trip featuring tickets to "Young Frankenstein", and a one-of-a-kind piece created for Hollywood Halloween by Iowa Diamond.

The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and
volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.

Tickets for the event are $150 per person, $1500 for a table of 10, and may be purchased online at www.dmplayhouse.com or by calling The Playhouse at 515-974-5358. All proceeds benefit the children's theatre and educational programs of The Playhouse.
