Auditions for "The Farnsworth Invention" will be held at The Des Moines Playhouse at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, Sept. 20. All auditions are open to the public; no one is pre-cast.
"The Farnsworth Invention" contains feature roles for 15 men and 4 women, ages 16 and up. Performances are Nov. 6-22. "The Farnsworth Invention" is directed by John Viars.
In "The Farnsworth Invention," two ambitious visionaries race against each other to create a device called "television." Who will unlock the key to the greatest innovation of the 20th Century: the ruthless media mogul, or the self-taught farm boy?
The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
