Yellow painted Light. Blue painted Water. And Red painted Play. And together they paint a Palette of Possibility. So begins this magical and inventive exploration of color in all its forms. Six actors and an assortment of objects will take the audience on a journey that moves from a playground, to the sea, to the sky, and back again. Along the way, audiences will have a chance to participate, engage, and interact with the actors as they are given opportunities to watch, listen, touch, respond, and join in on the fun. "Palette of Possibility" is a unique touring theatre production created by UNI theatre professor Gretta Berghammer and designed specifically to meet the needs of youth on the autism spectrum and other developmental delays, their families, and typical peers. Shows are open to all youth and their families and will feature the hallmarks of best practices to meet the needs of special learners including interaction, engagement, participation, non-restrictive seating, sensory friendly lighting and sound, multiple visual cues, low language, and movement/gesture-based storytelling.Videos
