Spotlight Mz. Wick on 42nd Street is a variety show extravaganza. Mz. Wick and her friends will entertain with songs from "Wicked," "Company," "Monty Python's Spamalot," and more. The evening begins with a reception at 6:30 PM. The cabaret performance begins at 8:00 PM. Proceeds benefit the Playhouse.
For two decades, Wicker and Bill Van Orsdel have shared their talents, raising funds and friends for the Playhouse, Des Moines Metro Opera, Junior League of Des Moines, Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Salisbury House, Variety the Children's Charity, Winefest, Young Women's Resource Center, and more. This evening is an opportunity for the community to thank the Van Orsdels for their contributions and honor the institutions they have served.

The Playhouse is Iowa's oldest and largest producing theatre. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
