DM Playhouse Presents JUDY MOODY AND STINK

The Des Moines Community Playhouse presents Judy Moody & Stink: The Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Treasure Hunt, Feb. 22-Mar. 10, 2019. It's the beginning of third grade for Judy Moody and while everyone in her class went somewhere fun over the summer, Judy stayed at home. Her new teacher, Mr. Todd, assigns a project to make a collage about yourself. In this play based on the hit children's book series by Megan McDonald, Judy and Stink take up a swashbuckling adventure on Artichoke Island. Judy Moody, known on Artichoke Island as Mad Molly O'Maggot and her brother, Scurvy Stink, join Scurvy Sam to race against Tall Boy and Smart Girl to give Judy Moody a real adventure to put on her collage. Finding concealed clues, unlocking secret codes and solving tricky puzzles, will Judy and Stink be able to find the hidden treasure?

The Playhouse cast is directed by Melissa Chavas-Miller. The cast includes Adam Beilgard, Shea Beilgard, Douglas Cochrane, Miles Ekhardt, Jen Green, Sophia Gustafson, Hannah Hayes, Gus McEntaffer, Sam Nigg, Nolan Scherer, and Lily Spahr.

The Playhouse is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the US. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.
