Celebrating its tenth year, Des Moines' premier costume party Hollywood Halloween will take place on Friday, Oct. 26, from 7:30-11:30 p.m. at West End Architectural Salvage in Des Moines. The event is the Des Moines Community Playhouse's signature fundraising event.
Tickets are $100 each, or $50 for those 35 and younger. Proceeds from the event support the Kate Goldman Children's Theatre and education programs at the Des Moines Community Playhouse. Ticket information: Des Moines Community Playhouse at 515-277-6261 or dmplayhouse.com.
"Lounge Lizard" Steve Berry will serve as the event's emcee and host of the cabaret. Local blockbuster "Final Mix" will perform. Every ticket includes delectable appetizers by Mary Miller Smith, hosted beer and wine and a photo souvenir provided by professional photographer Chris Maharry.
Costumes are encouraged for those attending Hollywood Halloween, however, a limited edition event t-shirt is available for purchase from the Des Moines Community Playhouse for just $22.
The event will feature Halloween-themed silent auction items, including unique onstage experiences.
With more than 94 years of uninterrupted service, the Des Moines Community Playhouse is amongst the six oldest continuously-operating community theatres in the U.S.
