BWW Previews: Much to See in Des Moines

A variety of theatrical experiences abound in Des Moines this May. Read on to find out more.

The Des Moines Community Playhouse presents the comedy Boeing, Boeing. Set in the swinging 1960's, Boeing, Boeing tells the story of Bernard and his multitude of ladies, all flight attendants. Mistaken identities and madcap comedy ensue when all the flight attendants end up grounded at the same time. Boeing, Boeing opens May 23rd and runs through June 8th. Cirque Mechanics: Birdhouse Factory will transform the Civic Center stage to a Depression era widget factory. Cirque Mechanics reinvents circus elements with unique storytelling elements that will leave audiences amazed at their ingenuity. Cirque Mechanics: Birdhouse Factory plays on May 17th. The Intergalactic Nemesis Live Action Graphic Novel is one of the most unique theatrical experiences you will find. A combination of comic books and live radio broadcast, complete with voice actors, an onstage Foley artist, and projections of hand-drawn artwork, the troupe will present Book One: Target Earth.
