On March 23, 2023, the Northern Colorado Center for Arts Entrepreneurship founding members Edward W. Hardy, Dr. Sarah Off and Dr. Rand Harmon will host the 8th annual UNCO StART Salon. This vibrant exhibit of visual art, music, theatre, and dance is curated and presented annually by students of the College of Performing and Visual Arts for engagement with the community of Greeley, Colorado. Northern Colorado Center for Arts Entrepreneurship 2022-2023 Team:
Dr. Sarah Off is an enthusiastic music educator and currently serves as Assistant Professor of Violin and Music Business and Co-Director of the Center for Art Entrepreneurship at the University of Northern Colorado College of Visual and Performing Arts. Additionally, she was named the 2022-2023 “Dean’s Fellow of Creative Scholarship and Community Engagement” at UNC. As an educator, Sarah aims to provide students with a solid understanding and command of their instrument and musicianship, balanced with expertise in entrepreneurship and business savvy. She believes that creativity, advocacy, business skills and community engagement are vital for the sustainability and progress of the arts in today’s industry. Her recent public speaking engagements include presentations for the American String Teachers Association National Conference, the College Music Society’s National Conference, Women in Jazz National Festival and the Colorado Music Educators Association Conference.
Dr. Rand Harmon is the co-founder and Co-Director, with Edward W. Hardy and Dr. Sarah Off, of the Northern Colorado Center for Arts Entrepreneurship. Dr. Harmon founded and has produced UNC’s StART Student Arts Salons from 2016-2020. For the 2022-2023 StART Salons, Hardy and Dr. Off joined him as co-producer. On October 14, 2022, Drs. Harmon and Off and Mr. Hardy inaugurated the Center for Arts Entrepreneurship’s Day of Art, featuring student performance and visual art at five venues around campus and downtown Greeley.
Edward W. Hardy (born January 12, 1992) is a critically acclaimed Black and Puerto Rican composer, music director, virtuoso violinist and violist and is one of the foremost exponents of solo violin repertoire for theatrical productions. At the age of 25, "Hardy (was) one of the youngest composers to ever be accepted into the Exploring the Metropolis Con Edison Composer Residency and one of the most prominent composer/ violinists in New York City" - BroadwayWorld. “Edward W. Hardy, who composed the omnipresent music, plays the violin superbly.” – The New York Times. Edward is a proud member of Local 802 Musicians Union, Dramatist Guild of America, ASCAP and is affiliated with the American Composers Orchestra, the Sphinx Organization, Exploring the Metropolis, the Gateways Music Festival, Carnegie Hall/ Weill Music Institute. He is also the founder and artistic director of the Omnipresent Music Festival - BIPOC Musicians Festival, the digital marketing director and artistic advisor of Beethoven in the Rockies: Concert Series, and the artist-entrepreneur in residence, senior director of operations and co-founder of the Northern Colorado Center for Arts Entrepreneurship.
