Janae Burris (Just for Laughs / NBCs First Look) is an actor, comedian, storyteller, and soon-to-be mom! She has been a standup comedian for 12 years, performing all over the country with comics like Michael Che (Saturday Night Live) and Josh Blue (Americas Got Talent). She has performed at the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs Festival and she is the first woman of color to be promoted to the Pro list at Denver's renowned Comedy Works. As an actor, she has performed locally with the Denver Center, The Catamounts, Local Theater Co., Colorado Shakespeare Fest, and most recently in the title role for our production of Hurricane Diane. Last year she received the True West Award for her performance in "Queens Girl in the World." On Saturday, April 16 (mere days before shes scheduled to give birth), Janae will finally perform a live taping of her one-woman comedy special, Long Overdue," and youre invited!
